Let's discuss the side content in the game, (mini games etc)

So Witcher had gwent, we know this and it's safe to say it was a success. in cyberpunk 2077 I have a couple ideas for what I'd like to see or at least on this level. CD OR want cyberpunk too be fucking amazing, they said this verbatim it needs to be better than Witcher 3. so let's do away with the fight clubs, and dice, and poker, and races. for a side game why not have a cyberpunk 2020 strategy game brought to life? make it a cross of syndicate wars and x-com strategy. have a faction you choose to play and the goal is to strategically take down the opponents conglomerate or faction using hacking, combat, etc. secondly, feature a top down isometric cyberpunk mini game where you even upgrade the character, make it similar to let's say The Ruiner or Hotline Miami even, you go through a number of levels and simple yet fun. last but not least in the bars why not have a cyberpunk pinball game? just for extra spice.

Well, they've said it's going to basically be like V:TM:B in the fact that it will take the Tabletop Game's rules and simplify them but basically work identical to it.

So, I think we're likely to see the game have a lot of skill-based stuff.

Side-content wise, I'd like to see some Virtual Reality games and some sleazy areas which fit the ambiance like brohels and cybernetics fights.

I REALLY don't want side games for the sake of having them or incorporating them directly into the gameplay.
Gwent was fine because it wasn't pivotal to W3, the lockpicking minigame in Fallout sucked because you had to play it.

The one part of Saints Row IV I hated was the platforming crap on those towers, thank god for save points! But they still took me hours to complete and I got so sick of doing it over-an-over-an-over I nearly just gave up on the whole game. Yes ... I suck at platforming.

cyberpunk 2020 strategy game [...] x-com strategy
This is as far as I got before becoming distracted by all the money I was throwing at the screen.

Give give give give give. If it's turn-based, at least. Just think, then we could have boring probably-real-time combat for those conditioned by Michael Bay movies to require a thousand murders to get turned on, and those of us good at things other than pointing and clicking everyone dead get to ignore that fluff and play something requiring actual skill. Everyone wins!

Oh, you had other suggestions. Well, they're terrible. Let's go with the good thing.

(And if any REDs are watching, just think of how easy it'd be to turn a turn-based strategy game into a soulless monetized spinoff app! Just the way you like it! The two are practically made for each other, from the Shadowrun and XCOM games being on mobile to various other lesser-known ones. Cha-ching.)

Let's throw some ideas out:

* Flying Car Racing

* Cybernetic Gladiator Contests

* Brothels

* Music Performances (Rocker Boy only)

* Gambling (Mahjong since it's the future and China is god?)

* Drinking contests

* Robot fights (you can construct your own to send them to their doom and control them)

You really do. Those were fun! Super jump times.
Super jumping was GREAT for getting around, yeah you could have vehicles, but why bother?

Hmm, these would actually be cool. Definetly needs a cyber/future bent.

* gladiator/fighting to make money and a name for yourself is fun.
* Brothels - regular women, cyber women, android women, what about personality sims to change their personalities (like the tv show dollhouse), or even becoming a prostitute, pimp or even porn star (miss that from the fallout 2 game).

* A variety of gambling and not just cards. Should have a little vegas like area with a whole bunch of stuff to do.

* Criminal Activity - I liked in elder scrolls/fallout where you could break into homes, steal stuff. Lets not be forced to play the nice guy, give us freedom to play evil/bad characters.

i want some side content but not isometrical nor turn based,
and it should be optional, just like gwent
i'm sure they will come up with new ideas that will work just fine

Card games, slot machines (what ever kind of games they might hold is a whole discussion of its own...) and stuff like that are quite enough for minigames.

Better to be said casinos and card games are quite enough for minigames with occasional tournament quests (like The Witcher series had) at top most.

Though I'd prefer card games where player's skill matters more than just luck but I don't mind classic poker.

Good mini-games give more meaningful context to "trivial" content, "make sense" in game world and incorporate ( or are expand) existing gameplay mechanics.I'm having far more fun in Mafia II just robbing the shops and running from the cops than anything in main campaign ( plus it actually gives purpose to clothing shops for disguise).
High risk/high reward/harsh economy is vital for this, players should receive substantial rewards here...do NOT make the same mistake ( as everyone) with bloated, randomized loot system. No amount of patching afterwards will make a difference.
In this case, better to have a few done well, than have things like drinking games, sports, gambling, etc.
Car races, Expanded hacking, Crime activities, Underground fights, Property management( acquire a cheap bar and turn it into classy nightclub (though this would be more DLC material))...that's more than enough, if done right. All these would use and further existing gameplay instead of devs having to design another one separately ( Was fist fighting really needed in Witcher? Espec when actual swordplay/animations could have had far more depth to it.)

I don't know how much time I have sunk into things like mini-games and what not in various games... but it is a lot. I have especialy spent a huge amount of time on FFVIII's Triple Triad, FFIX's Tetra Master, and FFX's Blitz Ball. XD

So, I would not mind mini-games in this either. What kind? I don't know... as long as they are atleast somewhat fun, and are not integral to the main story. Although... it would be pretty fun if maybe one or two somewhat main opponents (henchmen or something, maybe a smaller factions leader, etc) in the game where somehow effected by the fact that you spent a lot of time playing some mini-game.

"Hold on! Hold your fire guys! I said STOP shooting god damit!!! Hey, you hiding behind the barrel! YOU'RE CyberFunk2020 are'nt you?! Yes? I'm BoostMasterFlex! Do you remember me? My man... I did not know you liked [incert game name here]! Hell... im your biggest fan! Let me shake your hand! The way you took down TheMossLives during the last tournament was off the hook! Shit man... from now on you have got nothing to worry about from me and my gang. Free passage and everything through our area to... as long as... you know... you don't stire shit up for us, of course... then we will have a problem... but untill then, no problems! But man... I'm looking forward to seeing you in the next tournament! Oh? You have to go? Oh, well, if you would ever like to talk about [incert game name here] please do come back, I could use some pointers. Anyway... see you later man." *to his right hand man as you leave* "Can you belive it? I met CyberFunk2020?! This guy...the MAN! Once I saw him go up against... ... ..."

I say less gwent side activity that to me where a forcing out of character minigame not related to the setting at all and way more contextual side activity for make the setting rich.

I'd like to see car races or something (I mean come on, the were looking for a game play programmer with focus on vehicles). And a good new mini game maybe a holographic card game or dice game or something. Something simple is enough like in SW:KOTOR2. And quite fun would be if there is an old pub or bar or something fucked up where you can find an old arcade and play some 2D retro side scroller (double dragon style or something).

The more I think about it, outside of activities that use/reiterate on existing gameplay ( car racing, hacking, combat...), I'd say no, at least not in base game.

They already have their hands full with far more work than they had in Witcher...things like pinball machines, poker, etc would provide little entertainment next to well designed/diverse side activities+complex gameplay mechanics+high level of world/AI interaction.

If it's good/complex gameplay vs. poor gameplay+ plenty of "mini-games"...former option all the way.

Probably end up with CyberGwent. . . . Hmm. Actually, they could just make that the main game.
Holographic cards? Sheds a whole new light on cheating/hacking ... always have exactly the card you want/need in your hand.
