if you play ranked why you dont drop in rank?

So i made myself drop from 1500 (Rank 5) to 980 wih quiting a lot of ranked games because i wanted to decrease my rank
but it dosnt worked im at 980 points but still rank 5 ?!

isnt a rank system designed to put players into place?

or does it work only by rank points and the level displayed is a visible information what my highest ranked game rank became?

You can fall to 0 points in ranking, but rank stays forever (till the season ends), once you acquired it.

i wish i knew that ealier now i lost alot of progress damn..

i wanted to try out to regain the reward once you achive a rank so i would drop a rank and than gain the rank again to get the rewards again

but beta will end soon anyway right - is the 20 keggs reward for beta players a real thing?

That is probably one of the reasons why you can't lose your rank. Plus, I think it provides incentive to keep playing even after a rank goal is met, instead of people stopping to play until the season end out of fear to lose their rank.

i would have reported it ofc
its a beta right? betas are made to figure out the problems
i also tried alot with the kegs such as using mechanisms to slow down internet to sort of cancel process when oppening them and maybe achive cards + the keg
but nothing worked so far

Noi idea where you heard the 20 kegs info but the rewards after wipe are

• Every Card Keg you purchased — we will return you the amount of Kegs you bought with real money.
• Card Kegs for Player Levels — starting from level 5, you get 2 Kegs every 5 levels.
• Card Kegs for your rank — 2 Kegs for each rank.
• All end-season rewards.
• All items granted as gifts from CD PROJEKT RED (like the gift premium Geralt card).
