Is a PlayStation Plus Membership Required to Play Gwent on the PS4?

Do i need to buy ps+ time in order to play gwent? there are some free to play games that dont require it..

My brother have XBOX , and he should have gold to play online gwent ,

he can play vs AL , or change his deck ...

but if he want to play against another player , he must have GOLD first

The Xbox does require a GOLD subscription.

I don't know the details, but I can only assume Microsoft's policy for online play is different from Sony's.
