Any Advice for a Competitive Gwent Novice?

I'm going to need some help with the Gwent competitive scene. I love the witcher, books included, and I love this game, but I have no idea where to start. Just a few questions:

-What is the meta?
-What are some staple cards?
-Any terms I need to know?
-What is a good staple deck, and how do I make one?

If there is anything else I need to know please tell me. Any and all advice is appreciated greatly.

1 - meta will change a lot with the new patch... eta? soon it seems

2 - pick 1 or 2 decks you like and focus on building them. fastest way to get a competitive deck/decks imo.

3 - helpful glossary of gwent terms.

4 - here's a link to a SK deck an some useful youtube vids by Merchant

play all the decks in casual matches and watch the strategies other players use. will help you see the strengths and weakness's that all decks have.
