Witcher 2 having problems with frame rate!

I am having frame-rate problems at the beginning. And I don't think it is my hardware. This are the major components: 6600k,16gb ram, and 980ti. Any advice.

Maybe you have enabled ubersampling?

I have tried with the lowest of settings and still the frame rate drops to 24fps.

It's the game, sadly. When meditating, it can drop to 25, cutscene running through forest 24, framerate is all over the place with this one.

I guess it hates 9 series

frame rate is always that bad. the frame rate might go up to 35. But for a 980 ti and a i5 6600(skylake) the frame rate should be triple digits on high settings instead of 30 frames per second on lowest settings.

It seems to me that the game is not using the 980Ti but the integrated graphic card on your processor. Check nvidia control panel (or how they call it), there should be an option similar to this (I have AMD).

Since when did i5's start having integrated graphics? This is news to me. Must be a Skylake thing.

I have i5 6600k myself and yes, it has iGPU.

They have integrated graphics for a long time, even the Sandy Bridge CPUs from 2011 (e.g. i3-2120, i5-2500, or i7-2600) include HD Graphics 2000, regardless of whether they are i3, i5, or i7.
