Subtle Changes To Kaer Morhen Armor/Starting Armor

decided to do some minor changes to the Kaer Morhen Armor, based on changes i seen done by

if anyone is interested in this i can release it on nexus, but would need to be redone on default mesh..

all i have done is rise the chainmail to remove the "Squared" look

I'm sorry but....you can't be serious? The chainmail texture on your edits are completely destroyed.

Also, CAPA is not going to let you use his chainmail in your mod. I know, I asked him because I also wanted to use it in my mods.
 
Yeaaah sorry pal, but that chainmail looks horrible. Too stretched out for a start, oddly bent too.
I think you may be on to something but it needs polish, quite a bit of it!

Looks like he cooked the normal maps wrong or something....dunno, but it's definitely glaringly obviously broken.

it would either be W3oven or mod merger.
 
this is a pretty sensitive change. for the chainmail thing, instead of being, again, weirdly mean and discouraging (which is bizarrely frequent in these spaces - can't imagine a good reason for people to be so tense about strangers tinkering with a video game for fun) i'm gonna propose that you should look for a diffuse file for the chainmail pattern and make sure you're integrating it into the mesh's materials properly. it is true that i don't entirely know how to accomplish that such that it'll show up in-game, but from the experiences that i've had so far with getting materials to appear in-game, which have been exclusively failures, it looks like you've assigned the chainmail incompletely. the specularity is correct though, so i don't think you have to walk back anything.
but also i could be wrong :shrug: hope something works!
