Well worth the time, this game is fantastic. The X360 version was actually the first version I've completed The Witcher 2 on, and the port is good aswell.

Why isn't it available for the PS4? I was so happy as I read it but then I see only xone ..

It is not a native port to XB1, it is just the already existing X360 version running in compatibility mode. Obviously, the PS4 cannot run an X360 game. Native ports to the current generation consoles would be better, but they would also require a lot more work.

Played for a few hours today on my X1. The game runs fantastic, but agian I don't remember any problems with it when playing on X360. Switched back to TW3 and I must say, anyone saying that the current gen just has slightly improved graphics over past gen must have some faulty eyes :)

Thanks CDPR for giving the green light on this game on X1. Now you just fix the performance issues with TW3 on X1 and I'm back to loving and trusting you as before.

@sv3672 thanks fot he information .. but will it be ever available for the PS4 ?

You need to ask Sony about that. The release in question is a part of the backwards compatibility program carried out by Microsoft to make their current gen console more attractive for gamers. I doubt CDPR had any more work in the release than allowing Microsoft to republish the game on Xbox One.

AFAIK, Sony has their own "backwards compatibility" called playstation now. If the Witcher 2 was ever released on PS3, then there are good chances you can get to play the game on your PS4 through the playstation now thingy. MInd you, you'll have to pay for the game even if you had it on PS3, which is absolutely rip-offish if you ask me.

I agree. Playstation Now is pretty anti-consumer - which is ironic seeing how good Sony has treated consumers with the PS4 launch -, but what's great about it though is that you can pay and play for games you've never touched before on the PS2 and PS3, and they keep adding new titles very often. Speaking of backwards compatibility, didn't CD Projekt have a title called "The White Wolf" or something that supposedly was to be a reimagination of the first game coming to X360/PS3? but was scrapped pretty fast? I believe I remember seeing footage of it, it looked like The Witcher 2 set in The Witcher 1 with a lot of snow. It looked great at the time. Or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. The more people who get to play both TW1 and TW2 the better it is in my opinion. Maybe sometime in the future CD Projekt will release a Trilogy Pack with enhanced graphics and gameplay for The Witcher 1 and 2 on both consoles and PC. That would be awesome.

If that actually happens, then it'll be a perfect case of when the famous "shut up and take my money" quote is best applicable.

I think the title was "The Witcher: rise of the white wolf".
It was a remake of TW1 for consoles. Back then CDProjekt had zero experience with consoles and outsourced the project.
The project was cancelled leaving a big hole in the pockets of a young CDProjekt.

It potentially is. See here: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/thre...Kings-on-PS4?p=1998639&viewfull=1#post1998639

You need to ask Sony about that.

Yes, and the question should be why they officially stopped allowing running other OSes (such as Linux) on their Playstation. While some managed to bypass that restriction, it's not official and Sony will try to "patch" any such attempts. Otherwise one could just run TW2 on Linux there with ease.
