The Lady of the lake (spoilers)
Well i will try to get to the point couse this is probably a complex book and you really dont need that much detail to keep together through the events.
Basicly starts with ciri entering the tower of swallows, she meets avallach goes to tirnallia meets eredin and the riders of the hunt in their fisical form, cross path with a band of unicorns that are at war with the aen elle, enters the city, she meets auberon the king of the aen elle. avallach explains her that she is to deliver the elves with a child in order to return the gene of the elder blood "stolen" when cregnan the lod married with lara doren. the plan was that She has the child with auberon, after some failed atempts from the elf to have sex with her she has a conversation the next day with eredin that tells her they will never let her go, eaven if she provides the elves with what they want, something ciri had alrady figuered out. she manages to escape with the help of the unicorns and iranoquax (horsy) who told her how to breach tirnalias magical barrier. they also told her the plans of the elven leaders (eredin and avallac) to recover the power of the elder blood, open the gate of the worlds and unleash an invation on ciris world among others. the elves used to have these power before it was taken from them. she returns to tirnalia and goes to the kings chamber for a last time were she finds him dieing becouse of an elixir (probably an afrodisiac or viagra lol
) given to him by eredin and avallach that was to powerfull for him to whistand (it is not now if the death of the king was planned but it is definetly convinient couse it lets our two elven schemers in control). Then ciri escapes with kelpie and finds ihranoquax that shows her a giant dich with human skuills, meaning that that world used to be inhabited by humans before the elves invaded and enslaved an masacred them all. this is suposedly what they intend to do in the witchers world.
He then explains and teaches her to use her powers and inborn ability as the lady of the worlds to travel trough time and space in order to return to her loved ones. they start traveling together jumping from world to world until they part ways in an ambush were horsey stays to fight the riders of the hunt that are persuing them through the voids between worlds. ciri escapes and keeps on alone until she eventually finds her home world at the righ time and the right place for what she intended, save her kin. some say it was just coincidence but this and other similar events lead to the final confrontation wich was predicted by fate.
Geralt section of the book is about the time they spent in tousaint, were he spent 2 month in a state that seemed a fary tail, were love and coin flourished like flowers in spring. there he spent most of his time doing witchers work and in a romantic relationship with the sorceress frigila vigo (who was giving information to the lodge of sorcereses about geralt but was also madly in love with him). All of this was possible becouse jaskier/dandelion have been before and was romanticaly involved with the dutches who ruled the land. lady anarieta was delighted with the news of his lovers return and invited the party to stay and live with her at the palace until they find more clues of ciris werabouts. many things happen here, the most important ones are that geralt lears that yenefer did not betrayed him, instead she did what she did in order to protect ciri and also learned not only that she was in vilgelforts hands but also the locations of vilgerforts base, Styga castle.
having found the place were he presumed his loved ones were maintained captive he rallied his party (dandelion decided to stay in tousain becouse he though he found true love with the dutches) and left tousaint in a hurry with a hard farewell to her lover. having travelled far and wide the last part of the voyage started, along with cahir, milva, anguelme and regis he travelled to ebing were the styga catle remained.
Ciri appeared 20 minutes before the party arrived, she entered alone to the castle in order to exchange herself for yeneffers fredom, in the castle she found that stefan skalens mercenaries have give up loking for her and she magically appeared knocked the door and give herself in. having an exchange with bonhart, vilgerforts and skalen she was taken to the tower were the lab was in order to extract the elder gene by extirpating her placenta (?.
ciris arrivar was not only with an exelent timing but it also provided a distraction, while the guards and mercenaries were relieved and prepaing for a long waited break geralt and the party stormed in and started killing. during the storm, ciri and yennefer were rescued, bonhart and vilgerfortz killed but also the crew preished during the battle. Thanks to a letter geralt asked dandelion to be delivered to dikstra who woud notify emperor emhyr about the location of vilgerfiortz hide out.
At the right time the whole imperial brigade along with the emperor himself on its lead stormed the castled and arrested all of the sruviving mercenaries including skalen. alowing geralt, ciri an yen to survive a fight against overwelming ods. this is a very political part were we larn that emhyr is actually dunny and cirid biological father. aftef some interesting events emhyr lets geralt and yen go with ciri. they go trhough tusaint, help jaskier escape his hanging ( he was going to be hanged becouse he cheated anarieta with another chick so she condemned him to death but let him go at the last moment).
they return to the northern kindoms, meanwhile the battle of brenna takes place, then the peace of cintra, the celebrations in novingrad and other events that are not central to the plot.
Geralt and dandelion go to rivia were they join yarpen zigrin and zoltan chivay, but a progrom ocurs and geralt is baddly wounded after he stands up to defend his friends and the nonhumans. ciri, yennefer and triss arrive a moment later. yenefer tries to heal geralt but she falls unconcious/dead as geralt. ihranoquax appears, ciri tries to save them both, then takes them in a boat to the isle of avallach a place between the spheres, time and space, (also interpreted as afterlife having both of them soposedly die) then leaves the world of the witcher and en up becoming a partner with a knight of the round table and going to meet merling and king arthur.
thus ends the last book of the saga with a bittersweet ending but with hopes of both yen and geralt being alive, their friends in the witcher world mourning but well faired and ciri, the lady of the world traveling through space and time while escaping the riders of the hunt.
