This is not a Shreck reference. It's a reference to a fairytale "Puss in Boots" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puss_in_Boots ).

The witcher 3 has many references to fairytales like Snow White (Ciri), Hansel and Gretel (Ladies of the Woods), Cinderella (Keira), The Snow Queen (in a joke about Lambert) and so on.
