Played the game for three weeks. It was suppose to be this great game of strategy and depth. Far exceeding Hearthstone an older web article stated. Meh. Just another CCG to me. A lot of wash rinse repeat play. Most OP faction and cards used. Got bored fast and I uninstalled.

Originally when Gwent was first released it was a lot more strategic, so the article was probably accurate at the time.

Perhaps it was coincidental that at around the same time that Disney took over Fox, CDPR started introducing Disney style art to its cards and dumbed down its strategy element to make it have more of a Disney style game play feel. I say coincidental as Disney ever since it bought out Lucas Films has been growing through acquisitions, and Disney does have a games division... so who knows, by Disneyfying their game maybe CDPR figures that they might one day become an acquisition target for Disney
