This off topic forum is missing something...

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue... https://youtu.be/F2tHGncXOKw ...

Those antennas and that smile made me... smile at 0:17. Yeah, have a REDpoint for those antennas :)

However, if we are talking about old, new, borrowed and blue, this album comes to my mind:

Hell I'd likely be around 4000 right now if FF XII hadn't come out this week.
Moving this to off topic for a moment.:wat:How did I not know FFXII was getting a PS4 release?!?! It's definitely a top ten all time game for me (and my favorite final fantasy game). Just read a little bit about it ... job system seems like an intriguing mechanic. May have to rethink my future purchases.

EDIT: How is it?

Here is my view on the original game (http://tay.kinja.com/understanding-t...xii-1794397460) that I wrote a few weeks ago (this was my view on Gwent http://tay.kinja.com/tips-for-gettin...gam-1795303349, I like writing...) so I also love FF XII. However there were issues...
The remaster fixes one major issues the pacing. You know how it could take you a long time to get from A to B well the Remaster has 2x speed option (also a 4x but its too fast) so grinding is so much easier now and traveling isn't a chore. Its a major improvement to the game and combat. The remaster itself is awesome as well, I mean very well done even Vaans spray tan abs were fixed to look less monsterous. If you get time I'd say check it out, its the definitive version of an already great game. Also Job System is great but man is it stressful picking those jobs... I have Vaan as a quick dagger weilder, Penello as a Black Mage, Balthier as White Mage, Fran as a Breaker, and Ashe will be a Red Mage and Basch will be my Knight.

What's a red point?

It's analogous to a "like." If you look under your avatar you will see a post count a redpoint count and a help-point count. RPs are likes, help points are for if someone solves an issue for you in tech support. You can give redpoints by clicking "redpoint" at the bottom right of any post.

I never could get into the game; the combat, the characters, the damn opening narrator...

6, 7, 8, 9 were the golden years.

Anyhow, maybe I should give the remaster a try... some day.

My favorites were always 6, 7 & 12. I wasn't crazy about 8 or 10 and never played 9. 12 was different but I really liked the game play changes at the time. The only thing I wasn't crazy about in the game was the snottiness of Vaan (which is kind of a big deal ... but it's an ensemble cast really and the rest of them are really good IMO). I really enjoyed the way they changed combat for that game (it's not the best anymore ... but I thought the gambit system and party control were really cool). For story 6 will always be the best IMO. I enjoyed playing 12 more though.

FF8's leveling mechanic was a bit weird and could be exploited to beat Ultima. Anyhow, you should definitively try FF9. FF9 is a very special kind of FF because it combines the old school JRPG feeling with the newer graphics (back then). It also had an interesting ensemble. The game is close to being the best FF game. The only problem is the generic bad guy girl

I have been waiting for FFVII remake. Although I'm not sure if I want to play it, or just buy that original version to PS4. It's my work in progress on PS1, but somehow I don't like to play with wired controllers anymore and it was put on hold. I was somewhere around the Casino part, I think? I may have to start over when I return to that game :D I have forgotten most of it.

Those FFVII remake trailers looks nice, but I think I prefer those old looking characters more. Oh well, first I'm going to complete my Bard's Tale project and then I can think of something else.

Just recently I watched my boyfriend completing original FFXII and I have never heard anyone cursing that badly. Because of possible extra stress and game not looking that interesting... I think I'm going to skip that. Also, FFXII looks exactly like Last Remnant, so practically, I have already played that game :D Although Last Remnant's combat seemed to be better (even though still a bit weird).

FFX has been my definite favorite so far from that series. I almost cried when that game ended. It was also my first FF game ever. I decided to try it just a bit and see if it's any good, since people kept praising that series. 22 hours later I was thinking that maybe I should also get some sleep somewhere in between. Then I knew that it was a good game :D

Hmm... Maybe I should try to break that 22 hour non stop record on my upcoming holiday...

I've moved your question over to the off-topic discussions thread.

As for any tricks for searching, there are a few things you can try. When you click on the magnifying glass WITHOUT entering any search parameters, you will be taken to the advanced search page. There you can better specify what you are looking for. For example, you can select only the Gwent forum and sort the posts by date, which makes it easier to find threads. Alternatively, you can use Google's domain search by entering "site:forums.cdprojektred.com/forum/en/gwent/" behind each search in Google. The advantage of Google is that it allows fuzzy search, but the results cannot be filtered, unlike with the forum advanced search.
