Then suddenly some cards change and the whole deck collapses. That would leave a pretty bitter taste. Of course you can't be compensated for the whole deck. But you could at least give some compensation. For bronze up to epic it doesn't really matter. But legendary cards are costly.
If (legendary) cards are overpowered that's the fault of the developer. The player shouldn't get punished. It's not like all players actively (ab)use those cards.
Anything is better than nothing.
Of course every card still costs the same, but cards can become weaker and they will lose their actual value. It's like you buy a car and a week later during checkup the mechanic tweaks the engine to reduce the speed, just because. Then I would rather return the car and find another one to suit my needs.
Ignoring all the slippery slope and straw-man args. There is no market for cards so you lost no value at all. Second, it takes at most 1 week to craft any card provided you play regularly which in a close beta you are expected to because that's the point. Lastly NO TCG company refunds banned or erratum-ed cards, Not Nintendo, not Wizards none. Finally this IS a beta all the cards are expected to change and you should expect your account is expected to be cleared before this goes live.
This patch broke 3/5 of my decks built on really cheap tactics and its actually a very good thing. It also changed most of the cards i use in my decks that remain active
