flashback in Act III

Steam version Enhanced Edition. The Roche's path in Act III have no flashback about killing Henselt if you going saving Triss instead saving Anais. More then that there is no regular aedirn soldier who babbling about his poor destiny. Why? Is it mistake or this scenario so bad that developers don't even optimize him like others?

I think it's intentional. If your Geralt ditches Roche and goes off to save Triss, he's washed his hands of Kaedwen politics. It no longer concerns him. The fate of Aedirn and the consequences of Henselt's death are unimportant to him.

Because the political situation in the North is prominent in the game, I think we sometimes make the mistake of thinking it is as important as what Geralt and Dandelion observe, know, believe, and decide. It is the state of Geralt's mind and Dandelion's narrative, not the state of the world as an onmiscient narrator would know it, that matters.

And if Geralt pays it no heed, who are we to second-guess him?
