changes coming up with 1.8

- Improvements on the LOD (its elimination causes problems, so I will increase the distance where the various steps are activated)
- Improvement of shadow on beard and hair
- Wind effect
- Improved loose hair (currently they are excluded from some changes due to some problems with redfur files
- Improvement of all the reflections of beard and hair
- improvement of the toxicity status (it will not be limited only to the change of the texture file, which will probably be updated, but also to all the files concerning it

Nice! how much of the haircut can be edited? by default looks like a wig, like the tophead is way too high (comparing with the no hairworks version), and the hair cover the ears doesnt help either..it looks almost like a lion's mane, specially with tthe alternative version (i guess thats what they went for). Something more similar to the Killing Monsters will be nice, but i know is almost impossible without tools (the no hairworks version is awesome and very close)

unfortunately some .redfur files for long hair cause the wig bug .. they are thicker and beautiful but do not fit with the head of geralt and during the gamplay they have a ridiculous collision .. no matter what change you make .... it seems that the game do not digest the changes of 3 of the 10 files for Long and loose hair.
So I removed these three files to improve the other 7 files.
 
Thanks for the explanation, its a shame because its a nice tech but the implementation it's no so good when you compare it with the "normal" hair, but i can see your improvements already, looking forward to it.
 
the gif above modifies only 3 .redfur files other 4 are missing;) the scalp modification of version 1.7.7 works perfectly .. look how beard and hair have the same color .. if you try with vanilla this almost never happens
 
I created a new texture for toxicity status (it's still a WIP)

In this new version I wanted to accentuate more the effect of toxicity, but keeping the same principle .. that is.. not to annoy.

I'm still considering whether to insert it or not .. this is a comparative old texture vs. new texture.

TBOB 1.8[WIP] Infinite LOD for Geralt

This improvement will be available with version 1.8 of The Butcher of Blaviken (Lore-Friendly Geralt) mod. Apparently it looks like a trivial change for hair and beard Hairworks, but fix helps keep the look of Geralt in any position you find the camera .. no matter how far Geralt is, his hair and beard will always appear the same way. Stay tuned for more updates. For more details you can follow the mod page on the Nexusmods.com website or on the thread in the official CDPR forum​
 
On that survey matter, I prefer the right version. Looks more dramatic and detailed, reminds me much of the Witcher 1 intro video!

I would like to add more details such as: darker lips and other details with veins of the face, but I am afraid of exaggerating too much XD

I would prefer a balanced version between left and right (yes, I am special like that...), but if given only those 2 choices, the right side would be my choice. Maybe the toxic effects should be more green in nature? They are toxic after all and the toxicity screen is green too!

What would be FREAKISHLY amazing is if you could think of some effect for toxicity that resembles this mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2430 or maybe add a simpler effect through a custom mask for toxicity effects, one similar to the eye mask in "Glowing Witcher Eyes" mod. It requires some w2mi file editing and texture manipulation, but damn it would look good if Geralt's face would glow somehow when he goes toxic!

You could ask a similar question just about everything in Witcher 3 that differs from reality, don't you think? It makes no sense for HoS Burning Mark to glow/burn either, but it does look really cool and people like it.

Why would Witchers need two swords? It makes sense that monsters do not like silver, but why not use JUST silver swords? The hardness of silver is not that much lower than that of steel. Besides, in Witcher 3 Geralt massacres stone golems with his silver sword. That's enough to take on humans in heavy armor. Why should Witches and Geralt use 2 swords? It's dumb!

Another cool thing would be to make Geralt sweat after battles and/or during toxicity levels going up. There is a mod like that already, but it simply replaces Geralt's textures. Instead, I think some FX files could be used along with a script to make it happen. For example, there is a "sweat-like" shiny/slimy effect applied (through w2mi file I think) to textures in Novigrad sewers. Maybe that could be used for temporary sweating on Geralt's face and body?
