Playing Witcher 1 after I played Witcher 3 and then Witcher 2

The Witcher 1 was an amazing game the year it came out. You should play it at least once if u love the franchise.

Witcher 1 is a very great game. Okay the story is here and there a bit trashy and sometimes the quests and scenes don't feel like a homage, it feels like stealing from the books ;)
But I really liked the game and playe it from time to time.

Only thing what really annoys me. No word about Yennefer and Ciri (exept the one moment in the tavern) and that Geralt is "forced" to romance Shani or Triss... weird...

A few people have attempted to modify the face, to be more faithful to the first game, with various degrees of success. This one is one of the more talented attempts, although still not quite there, I'd say.

I could not acquiesce it

The Witcher 1 was amazing. Especially when you consider this:

CDPR were not a game development company, they localised games to sell to the Polish market. Basically, they wanted to make a game, decided on the watcher, learned to code games and came out with The Witcher.

The effort those guys put into the game, pours out of the screen and speakers. The art, music, ambiance, mood feeling etc have never been captured in quite the same way by TW2 and 3. Most definitely flawed but, never tries to hide that and, even more beautiful for it.

It is such a pity that you only decided to play this game because you liked the last one, and it prevents you from fully appreciating it. The Witcher was such a good game for its time, very immersive and a dear tribute to the book series (which I learned later after I rushed to my local bookstore searching for Sapkowski's works). I remember playing it for days on end in summer the year it came out, I turned down nearly all requests to go out and socialise like a working member of society. It was this game that got me hooked up on the Witcher universe, probably because of its overall introductory nature, but there was more to it: incredible music, humorous dialogues, a unique atmosphere, great artwork, lovable characters, captivating story and so on and so forth. I have finished this game numerous times since then and it remains and will always remain one of my favourites. Besides, do keep in mind that it was released in 2007 by a no name Eastern European company, but boy did they put all their passion into making it, which is a part of its charm. The Witcher was absolutely enthralling and it's a pity that to you it is but a place in time where TW3 technically started, because the game has much value to it on its own.

P. S. Never understood why some people look down upon its combat system and graphics. They may not be up-to-date but it doesn't mean they're awful, even less were bad at the time. It's not 2002 we're talking about. Hell, they made the NWN engine to look like a completely different thing. These aspects of the game are fairly decent. Come on, one could say the game's on par with Oblivion and DA:O. And it's not just my personal, nostalgia-fuelled take on it: check out what and how many awards it received when it came out. The Witcher was objectively a success.

If I could like your post more than once, I would do it. My thoughts exactly.

I really like the game play in Witcher 3. And I think how about if the Projekt Red remaking The Witcher 1 and 2 as DLC for Witcher 3?. The Flashback story may be?,.. Say that GeraIt already retired and having a happy live with Yen or Tris in Toussaint, and then he remembering his adventure in the witcher 1 & 2.
I think it's wonderful to play witcher 1 and 2 with the same gameplay and beautiful graphic as witcher 3. All the voice of the actors,.. Projekt Red has the master recording right?, just reuse the voice and conversations from the old withcer 1 and 2 to the new remaking games.
