sword style is damage dealer, swords just add another multiplier so if f.e.steel strong style level 1 inflicts- 1st attack: 10-12 x 2 = 20-24, 2 -> number of hits- 2nd attack: 15-17 x 2 = 30-34- 3rd attack: 30-32 x 2 = 60-64then sword with +40% damage wil multiply damage from hit by 1.4.when you hit your enemy you always see damage of each hit floating up.MariosX said:2) How do I check the damage I do with the Witcher's Sword in each style? The weapon itself says the damage is based upon the stylesMariosX said:2)You can't, really .. not without a mod.Fighting the same monsters with different styles with floating damage on is the closest you can get.
i've answered many questions about game mechanics in here for example:http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=17884.msg452770#msg452770http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=17884.msg457248#msg457248and complete combat mechanics description in here:http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=20389.0but unfortunately only in Polish language nowMariosX said:correct calculation looks like this:silver sensitivity is most ofter 200%, sometimes higher. weapon multiplier is 0.7 with modexample from mod version 3.03:level 3 strong silver style attack:base damage per hit 8-165 hitsstrength level 1bonus +5% dmgstrength level 2 bonus +5% dmgstrength level 3 bonus +10% dmgstrength level 4 bonus +10% dmgaggression +10% dmglevel 3 strong silver style attack damage upgrade +20% dmgarmor penetration: -35% to enemy armorenemy flederfleder armor: 0.65 recieved damagedamage recieved from silver 200%one attack damage: base + s t r e n g t h m u l t i p l i e r s + silver + style upg. / armor * armor penetration(5 * 8-16 * (1 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.10 + 0.10 + 0.10 + 1.0 + 0.2)) * 0.65 * 1.35 = (40-80 * 2.6) * 0.8775 = 104-208 * 0.8775 = 91.26-182.52 per attack18.25-36.5 per hitnot including sword oils
have you ever ran away from opponent (not boss) in vanilla witcher? have you used more then 4 potions on regular basis? have you ever needed oils on swords? have you bothered with places of power? focus on igni meant burning everything to ashes, no need for drawing a sword. focus on sword meant unused gold talents because everything died anyway before you reached 5th attack in sequence. aard meant 1-hit kills, just stun/knockdown and finisher.my geralt was a one man army.Blacksun1942 said:wow....That definitely wasn't my experience playing the default game. Even on the medium difficulty, the game was well balanced providing a decent challenge to the player from time to time without frustrating you needlessly to the point of wanting to break your keyboard in half with your bare hands.Blacksun1942 said:in vanilla witcher fights usually meant standing in place and whacking effortlessly enemies with virutal /god mode on.
It isn't so hard! Worse would be if one of blacksmiths was standing in some grasses or in middle of swamp And to hit a bottle with this dot in the middle of TPP view is easy ;D (need some practice maybe?Whisperwind said:as for me, when I change armor - potions go to ground, not inventory... amazing how such small bottles is so hard for geralt to lift up again....Whisperwind said:
