First of all, thank you all for sharing your feedback regarding new forums with us. We understand that visual changes always require some time to adjust, so we'd like to ask you for your understanding and patience while we work on implementing the suggestions you are sending our way in this, and other threads. It will help us make this place even better. After moving over to the new engine version we've encountered unforeseen issues, therefore we had to bring down the forums and temporarily remove some of the features (such as REDpoints and achievements) but they will be coming back shortly, do not worry.

Happy to share the good news. We've just sent over the updated version of the ModKit to guys at NexusMods. It should be available for download from their website today. In the meantime you can use this link. Apologies (we do realize silence is not a very good way of communicating stuff) for the lack of updates but we did not have anything to share until now and we didn't want to just keep on saying "soon". Instead we can present you with solid info right now.

Please keep in mind a very IMPORTANT thing regarding this update. Before installing this version, remember to uninstall any previously installed versions of ModKit and remove all local files from the destination folder. This is crucial.

The changelog can be found below:
1. Version of fbx can now be specified
2. Textures can be assigned to texture groups

Again, sorry about the delay and the lack of communication.

Hey, just a quick note from me. I'm a quest designer, I don't work on the modkit or have the authority to share information on official updates. I know it might be annoying to not hear news, but it won't help sending me messages or mentioning me every few days. I can tell you that we're aware of the issues.

I think we might have overestimated them. when a team or a project starts to bloom, it's full of new ideas and although small, it's very strong from within. however as they grow, business takes over and profit becomes more important and thus dictates more. I hate to say but my favorite studio has passed its peak and is now slipping the slope.

Hey, I really love watching the different mods changing the game and I love to help wherever I can in my free time while still doing my actual job, but I also gotta say that a bit of respect for the artists who worked their asses off to give you guys Wild Hunt won't hurt.

Edit: And please keep in mind, I am saying that as a "fellow modder".

There's not changelog per se. Modkit is now compatible with 1.31 version of the game.

1) The actual terrain and foliage will always be loaded. But you can put all meshes or entity templates on different layer groups and then load them accordingly. As an example, whenever I interact with the gate of a town, I load a blackscreen, then load all meshes I need in this town, unload the ones I used outside, and when it's done, fade into gameplay again.

2) You have to spawn all npcs (including monsters) using spawnsets (or specific monster spawners) or otherwise their AI won't work. This includes dying. So putting their entity templates on layers won't do the trick unfortunately,

3) There are ways, but it's very easy to just make a simple quest phase that contains all fluff dialogue. Alternatively you can create voicesets for npcs that work without a quest.

Ps: We're trying to get the Redkit wiki up and running again, so hopefully that might answer some questions in the future. :)

1. The 1.31 hotfix is unfortunately not yet available in PS4 Chinese region.
2. The 1.31 hotfix is for vanilla game only, not for GOTY (GOTY already had a patch named 1.31).
3. The hotfix is 86 MB. However, size of e.g. 20 GB may appear at "prepare to download" stage of patching, especially if you pause because the package is analyzed then to see how much data needs to be replaced and whole packages are then analyzed. After packages have been analyzed the correct size of 86 MB s displayed. The analysis stage may last 10 minutes or more.

Hotfix 1.31 out now on consoles! It fixes long loading times in dialogues in the vicinity of Hierarch Square and addresses the problem with infinite loading screen occurring during the "Pyres of Novigrad" quest when following the thief.

Hey, I'll try to check it out tomorrow but from what I see on the two videos, it doesn't look like you lose the alpha channel completely, but it's not a soft alpha. I had that issue when I saved the texture in a different format. But it's been two years since I did that, so I am a little rusty on the subject.
Just in case we're not able to find a solution, please also write a mail to our support. They know much more about how our W3 modkit works than I do! :)
