Ya, I hope they continue the Witcher series - doesn't have to be as Geralt as he had a pretty good ending in B&W. Would love to see:
* Time skip about ~50 years down the road
* 1-3 Bridge Books written by a professional author (maybe Sapkowski as CDPR and he recently reaching an agreement on the legal stuff - I also read on at least one news site that there was talk about potential collaboration in the future between the two parties) to essentially set the stage of the world with new: political situations, rulers, sorceresses, sorcerers, hero characters, bad guys, etc. as a lot will have happened over that ~50 year time period since Blood & Wine ended, and then...
* Perhaps something cataclysmic happens that causes a larger re-population of monsters into the world
* With the decline of the Witcher population we saw during Geralt's time period, a situation like that would potentially trigger the need for Witchers again in a world that, half a century later or so, with the exception of older folks, may have forgotten in detail what it was like to have Witchers around, allowing the player to make their way in that world as a new, inexperienced Witcher, to choose to play the hero, or maybe just be a cold mercenary for hire.
* One idea I thought might be interesting is since a child is needed to be turned into a Witcher at a young age, CDPR has said if they do more Witcher, they have to have the right story - they are exceptionally good at making games epic from the hero angle, the emotional angle, etc. to where you really care about the characters as if they're real - it would be neat to see a different origin type story of our next main Witcher - maybe we have a heroic king who, with advice from his mage advisor, acknowledges that within 20-30 years his kingdom is going to be overrun by monsters and to keep his people safe, he's even willing to volunteer his own son to go through the process of becoming a Witcher. The son and king would have mixed feelings about this, obviously given the risks involved, and that'd be something we'd see our character deal with during his story. (Just an idea)
* A cameo appearance by Geralt & and either Triss or Yennefer (depending on who the player chose, if they did opt to permanently romance on of the two) would be basically mandatory.
The entire Witcher series is easily the best set of games I've ever played. From the emotional pull driven by the quality of the world, character development, music, meaningful actions by certain characters, emotional attachment to characters, etc. it's really tough to let that world go. I'm a 37 year old guy, and there were multiple situations and scenes during the Witcher series that literally moved me to tears. I've seen so many posts from other people on the Steam forums echoing my own thoughts on the series and how meaningful the games were to them, that I know so many of us feel exactly the same way about the series. Hope CD Projekt Red finds a way to keep the magic going with a new adventure in that world.
