Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019

Those are the quotes I could find, yes. As I said, other quotes appear to have been removed, or simply lost to the Discord machine.

At any rate, Naz (mod) seems confident the footage won't be uploaded. I guess you can take that as you will.

I certainly hope they are wrong, and the footage does get uploaded, preferably quickly. But we will see.

I hope they will.
For what we saw, the game looks like a railroaded FPS. But we know (well, almost) that it's far more than that.
We mostly saw the "action" part of the game, time to see some eye candy for RPG too.

Agreed. I'm hoping that is primarily what their next gameplay clip focuses on.

I would love to see this as well and I wouldn't even mind if it took a 'tech demo' approach to showcase different environments and settings. As pretty as game engine footage can be, it would be amazing to see it running 'live' on high-end hardware to get a better feel of what to expect. I'm just hoping we don't have a repeat of TW3 where there is a pretty drastic difference between the E3 version and release.

It won't, any video on MS's stage can't last too long or become boring for the mass with all those little details we need, it must be a shooty shooty bang bang full of explosions, a concentrated version of the 48 min demo.
Unless we go to E3, any details we'll get will be from Angry Joe or Ninja or whoever they invited. Maybe from the press, if we're lucky.

I'm holding out hope that its, say, a 10 min demo that shows different parts of the menu a few times. We can learn a lot about the game once we learn what the Style tab is, what the Social tab is, and what the skill/perk menu looks like. Ideal? No, but it's something.

Microsoft Conference this year supposed to be 20 minutes longer then the last one and since they allowed them to do the whole "hacking" segment at the end, maybe they did extend presentation a bit to let CDPR show a little more this time around (I remember that RED's complained about Microsoft E3 demo of The Witcher 3 (the one with the griffin), because they were given too little time and had to make it shorter), seeing how now they are pretty major force to be reckoned with. That or because Microsoft needed more time to talk about new Xbox, but of course I hope for the former.

I would love to see more of the game world and mechanical components, but I get why we aren't, and it is the same reason we didn't see much outside of environment porn and combat footage for other major RPG's like Skyrim & Fallout 3/4. For "some reason" those are obvious RPG's and 2077 is a "railroaded FPS".

idk maybe CDPR can promise less crunch bc 2077 is done and we can all move on from this place (and into Night City).

MS has a lot of things to show: fable 4 from playground games (leaked and all journalists think it's true, do your math), halo infinite, dino crisis (leaked and tweeted by gamestop), new game from ninja theory (online coop)(?), the outer worlds, dying lights 2, Great Rune (from software) leaked and recently confirmed by the 2 journalists I know, probably a ubisoft game (WD3?), some stuff about the new xbox, xbox game pass, the usual medley of indie games, ori 2... CP2077 and who knows what else.
They're not gonna give them 30 minutes of show out of 2 hours, and they actually don't need them: 10ish minutes for "second class gamers" like us at home, 60 minutes to VIP + interviews if they're big names, something in between for E3 attendants.

Sad day for me. I can understand now showing last year but now?! after all the hype created. Bad decision. bad, bad. I feel like a second class people now.

Everytime I read something you wrote about this I get a little more pissed because that's all absolutely true and it's ridiculous we're getting this treatment.

I started couting days to this E3 when we got the first gameplay demo! I wasn't able to pass a single day without visting this forum and the CP2077 reddit!

"This is going to be our most important E3 ever"...

For who? Game journos? Fucking youtubers? Come on... with very few exceptions, these guys [...] couldn't care less for Cyberpunk.

CDPR should be showing the game for people who are really invested on it. Hell, I could even point at some people in this forum who are infinitely more capable of writing a decent first impressions article than most of this game journalists.

I do hope I'm wrong and overreacting. I'd be really glad if I'm proven wrong.

People were angry last time, too, as I recall.

A) because you are upset is no excuse to act poorly or lose your temper. All of us want to see the demo, but not all of us are swearing and snarling.

B) Things worked out okay last time - even if we don't get to see a demo this time, the vast bulk of us are still the target market and the people CDPR wants to make happy. They know this.

C) CDPR could have gone totally stealth this E3, a la Rockstar's usual approach and Blizzard's - and then we'd just be waiting still. This is better I think.

So everyone stay calm. Game is still coming. It's not Cyberpunk E3. It's 2077. E3 is just a showcase, not the game.

Except this time there are rumors like this. This marketing strategy is the opposite thing they need to do to counter FUD.

They won't be changing their entire marketing plan just because of rumours. They still have an entire year (if my predictions are right) to counterweight them and even before that happens, I'm sure those rumours will be nothing more then a water under the bridge.

Oh, there are always rumours like that.

Im not saying I'm happy - I get to see the same stuff you guys do, and also have boss Reds threaten to tell us stuff that may or not be real. They are cruel. But wonderful. I fear and love them equally.

Anyway, I'd like to see the demo too, but Upstairs has decided that's not a good idea yet. Maybe they don't want this demo distributed everywhere and pored over. Maybe they heard the people who said the last one looked too unfinished. Maybe they are still smarting from the Witcher 3 E3 to Release changes. Maybe Marketing did their research and this is 2 P points higher on the scale.

I don't know. It's not my business to know. I do know I will get to see gameplay eventually - and play the game. I'm pretty sure CDPR has good stuff to show the world at E3.

Little more patience. Game isn't ready yet, but one day, it will be.

Even so, if game is awesome they still need to rethink their marketing - AFAIK they are aiming at really high sales target (19 millions? Its GTA V numbers, I think its pipe dream).

The problem is not lack of patience, but perceived preferential treatment. Hell there is a mountain of salt now with FFXIV due few days long gameplay changes embargo - people really like to get information directly from developers without youtubers etc acting as middle man.

Gaming is the perennial waiting experience. Except you never level up. Old gamers should be mountain top meditative buddhas by now.

I think the wait for Diablo 2 was the best game waiting i ever had. PCgamer should do a definitive Top 10 game waiting games list.

Personally I don't see the point of letting "anyone" (not just journalist) see it at E3 but not other "anyone" how cannot be physically there.
Seems like I'l never understand how PR works.

As a matter of the last demo, being delayed possibility to see it after over-enthusastics journalists is one of the reason some things bugged me, because journalists said things which weren't there.
