I don't think Jason's response was based on any leaked information, just his own assumptions, but still I agree with that assumption nevertheless.

Whatever information the tweet is based on, he sounds really confident, and probably knew the statement will be reported as news (for example here).

I would say he probably based that assumption on the recent messages he received from the (alleged) developers in CDPR and the fact that one of them mentioned they will be working on the game through the Autumn (No Vacation Time) and Winter (Vacation Time), which definitely would suggest that the game won't be coming this year.

That guy knows everybody ( = everything). When he says something so firmly, it means he knows. He has confirmed leaks long time before stuff was announced. I.E. WD3 set in London, to name one.

Don't put all your trust in someone. Even if that person is good at his or her job, being a professional, we still need to think for ourselves too.
Don't trust blindly.

In this case a new information can appear any time, and opinions can change.

Yeah, I always thought myself the game was coming in the frist 6 months of 2020, fall if delayed. This is just a possible (?) confirmation. Anyway, we'll know in 9 days.

Just don’t go overboard on this philosophy. There is something like an expert opinion.

I’m not counting Schreier as an expert, but if a doctor tells you you should check out your lump, to vaccinate your kid, or if NASA tells you the earth is round, then don’t go off on a tangent thinking you know better and withdraw into a fantasy realm where you make stuff up.

STRONG difference between forming your own opinion and disregarding established human knowledge.

I’m willing to bet Schreier knows more than us with his experience. I’ll take his input with a grain of salt and everyone else’s input with two grains. After that I’m open to being proven wrong.

Very good points. But, for a better reasoning, don't trust one source.

If a doctor puts a diagnose, you go check with another's opinion too. No one is perfect, not even professionals.
As long as you can't see the proof of something and verify it, don't go full trust.
Of course somethings hit you in the face with proofs, like Earth being round, or vaccinate your kid etc.

Regarding release date of CP2077, if Jason said it's not coming this year, can he prove it surely to us?
Can anyone be sure CDPR will not pull a surprise release this year, or delay it to next year, or 2021?

I for one don't know what is the state of the game. For all I know the game can finish in July and release in 31 december-1 january, just to troll us and see how drunk people play it.

I prefer to wait and see what CDPR says about the release.

Absolutely no news is official news unless CDPR announces it.

Even then, it's subject to change. :coolstory:

When the game actually releases...then it's final.

Just my two cents on this...a friend of mine went into hospital with an injured finger and the doctor said that's without any hopes going to be amputated right away. He literally fled to another hospital and the finger was saved there (free healthcare here, so not a money issue). Another guy in town was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. One month and he was supposed to be a goner. He and his broken wife went to a specialist to at least ease the pain and he was like wtf u doing here? What lunatic sent you? That's just an inflammation, you need pills and you'll be alright in 2 weeks.

So, given the E3 is just around the corner, there is no reason to believe literally anything unofficial (and panic about it) as we'll know really soon...

Looks like we're trending towards Q1 2020 until we learn more at E3. I do not believe it is their intention to attend 3 E3's in a row for the same game. Also keep in mind they want to launch on current gen consoles first and then next gen to get the GTA V effect that Rockstar & Take Two Interactive were able to achieve. People will buy the same game twice for the upgraded experience and it doesn't come across as a cash grab to consumers.

I was sure that Death Stranding will come out later than CP2077, I expected Kojima to go overboard without reigns of Konami.

9 days left (I expect if there is release date announcement for CP2077 it is at the end of Microsoft conference trailer)

It looks like nothing interesting is happening today that is Cyberpunk related, after all.
The only thing vaguely related to Cyberpunk that happened today was WallStreet 23 conference in Karpacz, where Adam Kicinski was a special guest and talked a bit about Cyberpunk and CD Projekt in general. Maybe I will translate some more interesting bits and drop it somewhere around here or on reddit.

Well, I was proven wrong. It wasn't just an assumption.

According to Jason's sources, the game was being planned for 2019 release, but currently the team doesn't believe they will be able to reach that goal, which makes 2020 release much more likely.

That still gives us a decent bit of information. Hoping for 2019, but expecting 2020 puts it somewhere around November 2019 - March 2020 I’d say.
