FPP only cutscenes might be a deal-breaker for me

Hell no! I want my naughty naugty first person action! :)

You might be lucky if you read this.

"CD Projekt Red also brought us The Witcher series and we got a lot of sex in that series as well but it seems that Cyberpunk 2077 will take sex and romance option to another level by offering all kinds of sexual experiences."

Actually, FPP cutscene are just as much able to be 'controller down' segment as TPP cutscene are able to be playable, so in the end it's just a develloper's choice, not something defined by the chosen perspective.

That's interesting.

I myself haven't encountered many games that allow the player to move the camera about while watching third person cutscenes.

Which games are you thinking of?

FPP sex cutscene for straight female or gay male V: V stares at a wall while (we are told) a man mounts them from behind 😂

Speak for yourself. In first person, you can do stuff like slap in the butt, pull hair, grab breast, bite/suck ear, even kissing on the neck has much greater impact in first person than in 3rd person. In 3rd person you just watch the bodies.
Just having the camera perspective changed doesn’t mean you’re randomly going to get interactive sex cutscenes lol. Not to mention think for a minute what kissing the neck or biting the ear would look like in FPP. You can’t see your character’s mouth so that would involve the camera just zooming way in on the neck or ear until the screen was filled with flesh colored pixels. Super weird and awkward.

I don’t think player related romance ”scenes” are even needed. Those things won’t happen as one’d imagine them anyway. They’d also be awkward in 1st person, so they’d serve best when left up to imagination via fade out.
Normally I love romance as a part of a story but In this case I’m inclined to agree. CDPR announced romances before they announced that all cutscenes would be FPP and it feels like unless they toss aside expectations from TW3 and go an extremely chaste route where you see nothing (not even kissing because of how horrifying that would be in FPP) and it just fades to black then they’ve shot themselves in the foot with that.

That's interesting.

Hmm, I get the feeling that I have seen the ability to randomly move the camera around while I’m a TPP cutscene but I can’t remember the game. Maybe I’m just remembering wrong. In any case, I don’t think the ability to fiddle with the camera and look at the ceiling or your character’s feet when the game wants you to look at what’s happening is something I’d consider to be interactive in any way. The only time I’ve done that random fiddling with the camera is when I don’t care what’s happening and I want it to be over so I wouldn’t say it enhances cutscenes to have that ability.

Not that they would implement it in their upcoming game, but I always found most of the romance cards in the first Witcher game amusing. Some of those images gave away pretty good ideas of what they possibly were doing behind the scenes.

I support first person myself. in first person you can be alot more straighforwarded, also you can take things more slowly, as in 3rd person, you start something when things get nasty, you gotta move the camera away, it makes player feel like a loser. It comes down to CDPR what they wanna do, but I see pros in first person too. And more importantly first person is much better for sex scenes, third person for porn, I believe Cyberpunk 2077 is going for sex.

I watched some sex scenes from Witcher 3 and that's soft-porn. Cyberpunk should be hard sex and first person is much better for that. Let the girl know you were there.

Well, yeah. Kinda.
When it’s about the players (supposedly) own character, these things should always be abstracted to a certain level. Not dictated via an elaborate cutscene.

3D fallout games have some.
David Cages games and other interractives movies have some.

Actually I almost play no FPP games (as I see strictly no interest in FPP because outside of VR, as flat screen FPP does the exact opposite on me on what it's supposed to do: Same difference as why I find cartoons more immersive than bad realist CGI despite bad realist CGI still being more realist than cartoons) but still remember being able to move the camera many times, just not specifically remember games for that reason as it's not something important for me.

FPP porn is very popular, especially with VR being much more commonplace. Not sure why people think this would be a nightmare, it's done all the time in the industry.

Also some of these comments are super cringy, and I hate that buzzword

Romance scene in TPP

Romance Scene in FPP

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Haha! Thanks for the chuckle :)

However, I'm not sure comparing what looks like newly weds, engaging in a sweep-you-off-your feet kiss and set against a beautifully majestic landscape to an ordinary dude in a bland top, statically sitting like he's waiting for a passport photo against a stark white background and pouting like a goldfish is entirely fair ;)

Besides, as @imitenotbecrazy said, FPP erotica is well established. How well FPP romance/sex cutscenes work will be down to the level of skill with which CPDR crafts them, not the perspective itself.

I'm curious as to how they'll do them. I guess a safe option would be a montage of brief glimpses of movement combined with frequent fading to black but who knows?

EDIT: I just remembered that Strange Days (film, 1995, Ralph Fiennes) has FPP sex scenes AND is in some ways somewhat CP, or at least I thought so. I guess anyone wondering how it might look could potentially use that as a guide? You know, minus the violent bits :s

I admit, half of my goal was to get a laugh :p as far as my own tastes however, I don't think a better background, outfit, or facial expression on FPP guy would make it any less awkward. I can't speak toward porn but I want my romance scenes to be romantic. The whole idea of faces and genitals coming at the screen or disembodied body parts slapping together is really off-putting to me. Just a simple kiss between two characters seems impossible to do in FPP without being cringeworthy, gross, or weird and confusing.

Honestly I wont be surprised if CDPR announces either that romances (or casual sex/hookups) won't be in the game after all or that they will not have any cutscene attached and instead be like your character talking and flirting with an NPC and an option that would result in kissing or a sex scene is simply a fade to black.
