Is anyone else experiencing this error? I'm not sure what to do to fix this problem. I can't even boot the game.

I am also receiving the same exact error message in failing to load options.json. I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC v.1809.

This is an AVX issue where older CPU's simply do not have, a fix at the moment to get past this is to use a hexadecimal editor to edit Cyberpunk2077.exe

search for 554881ECA00000000F2970E8 and change the first byte to C3 save and reload the game.

essentially change the 55 to C3 so it looks like this C34881ECA00000000F2970E8

I cannot confirm this works the entire way through but it gets me past the bar crash and past the crash after cops
It got me to the chip mission, like 6-8 hours deep in game. Got memory leaks related crashes here and there but nothing that game restart couldn't fix.

XEON e5400/ GTX 970 / DDR3 7GB RAM

I DİD THİS BUT DONT WORK PLS HELP

xpression: EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION (0xC000001D)

The game is trying to use a feature you don’t have: AVX.

At the beginning playing corpo when you sit it crashes. A possible temporal solution while they fix this issue is to remove this part of code:

Edit Cyberpunk2077.exe with a hexadecimal editor and search for

554881ECA00000000F2970E8

Change the first byte to C3 (return from the function):

C34881ECA00000000F2970E8

Do i have any reason do this or maybe i'll just wait my new processor? All this manipulations with game files invertible by reinstall?
If you edit the .exe with an hexa editor, you can just make a copy of it beforehand. 100% no problem. Take like 30s to do.

Just found a GOG support page with some supposed fixes I haven't seen before:
stuff like installing it in a different folder from program files (x86) and weird stuff like that. Seem's simple, but better to be thorough just in case.

I get the Whoah! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined error the moment I hit play or when I execute the Cyberpunk2077.exe directly.
I tried every solution offered, reinstalled a few times and checked my Steam installation multiple times.
Granted my laptop is a fossil but it still manages to run BG3 (slowly).

There are two separate issues in this thread due to it being merged with another thread at some point. I have the same problem as you, and many others do to, but there's also a different issue where the game crashes at various points. I don't think there's anything more specific we can do other than to sit tight and wait for an official patch.

For everyone still having the Crash on hitting Play issue AND if they are on a LTSB Version of Windows.
It seems that this is the issue.

Check my reply here:

Cyberpunk crashes after pressing "Play" in CD Project Red launcher.
How to fix it?

I tried restarting PC and installing latest Nvidia driver. It didn't help

Spec:
Windows 10 LTSB. Steam version. Build 5946255
Nvidia 1060 6Gb

i had this problem until yesterday solved today. step 1 Winver on Windows run if the version is 16xx update Windows to the latest build available. step 2 update Nvidia driver. step 3 disable Nvidia overlay and steam overlay. step 4 install the latest visual c ++ and update direct x drivers. step 5 look for the cyberpunk executable and put the flash run as administrator in its folder. If you have done all these steps at startup it should no longer crash. It only fixes the GPU error. For a lost day of play cdprojekt has to compensate me. I'm kidding.

Crashes after click "Start" button on gog. Have g4560 with no AVX.

this AVX problem? Or maybe something else? I have this question because most AVX issues takes in a same moments. But me cant run the game all day.

Cause i disappointed so much, then bought r7 3700x tomorrow.

I can tell you now that buying R7 3700x won't help you much, I have constant crash issues. I used AVX fix from nexusmods and it didn't help, it's still crashing somewhere. While some may have succeded with it, I still have issues which seem to be not related to AVX thing.

Only thing to left to try is to try one fix over command prompt, apparently there are cases where people have AVX disabled even if they have AVX ready CPU's. But even then I have doubts.
