PC Gamer - 9 features that didn't make it to the final version of Cyberpunk 2077

Never mentioned anything about night life or adult content instead of the PG-13 that we have now.
It's a great game, but it doesn't change the fact that we were horribly lied to.

They didn't lie, they just released an early, closed version for a type of date / purpose and assumed that. They are reversing that, they said that publicly and they will do that.

If it's any consolation - No Man Sky went through a similar situation, also led by pressure and resurfaced almost from the ashes. Today they enjoy the prestige and confidence of their base.

Where have they said that? Because all I've seen is their shareholder meeting where they specifically said they WERE NOT adding in any cut content, and only focusing on bug fixing.

Here's the thing, CDPR became a public company a few years back. Which means they're not controlled by the shareholders, rather than the founders. Which means no matter what they WANT to do, when the shareholders tell them to put something out by a date, they do it, even if the product put out is garbage.
The No Man's Sky people were a private company, so they could take all the time they wanted to fix up the game, go back and add stuff, etc. CDPR doesn't have that liberty. The shareholders have to tell them to do so. Most likely we'll just be seeing the DLC and then it will be on to whatever next project they're told to pump out to make a buck.

I get that they are patching and adding to the game, but they are very much on track to not include any adult content at all. So far, the recent patches has only been removing that aspect.

The game has always been advertised with adult content. There is no controversy about this, CD just needs to keep his promise.

Ok, but how is adding patches to remove adult content, keeping their promise? How do the chances of any adult content being added to the game look, when the only adult content that they have on release is being patched out?

Not a list I'd cry over, but 2 things:
Wall running removed and the terrible implementation of cops.

Wall running was probably removed because it was a logistical to implement in a way that didn't end up feeling sporadic (constantly clipping through walls and objects), or gimmicky, and in order to avoid the latter you'd have to built your levels around it, but then simultaneously do so without trampling on the work that the art designers did, which likely result in a "gamey" look (think Titanfall 2).

A lot of these features are things that CDPR were open about no longer being the game (some we've known were altered/taken out years ago), and others (like hacking) are still there mechanically, they just aren't presented as opulently as they once were (possibly for added clarity) , so I don't really see any reason to dwell on those tbh.

Just a ratification: I refer to scenes - limited - that should not be confused with mere decontextualized pornography of the game's history. The nude in the inventory, but not feasible outside of it, is something absolutely unnecessary, out of purpose and offends me severely, since it assumes that I would use it negatively, in other words, the game design leader is saying - leaving from the beginning - that I'm a pervert without even knowing myself.

It's just a tipping point though, and sends the signal to me that if they do ever release any additional 18+ content, they probably won't even be close to what was advertised.
It is still a fun game. I am enjoying it as is right now bugs and all, but they need to stop kidding themselves and drop the Mature rating if that's the direction that they want to go.

I don't know where you get your information on how corporations work, but shareholders do not have the power to dictate terms of that nature to a company.

Shareholders can elect a board of directors, typically done annually, and can even complain to whomever they want in the company, but they have absolutely zero power to say 'release this or else'. The most they can do is sell their shares or elect a new board if they're unhappy, unless the company can be found to be derelict in it's responsibilities. At that point they can look into legal remedies, but as far as giving deadlines for a product launch, they just don't have that power.

"We've greatly enhanced our crowd and community systems to create the most believable city in any open-world game to date"
"The city streets are bustling with crowds of people from all facets of life, all living their lives, with a full day/night cycle."

"According to new CDPR interviews, Cyberpunk 2077's new real-time AI systems will allow for incredible dynamism. Thousands of NPCs will have actual daily routines throughout Night City's six districts, including a ton of robust and varied characters with cyborg implants, unique designs and animations, and day and night cycles."

What we got:

No NPC Day/Night cycle. NPCs spawn and despawn outside of the player's view.

If an NPC is doing an action, they will do that action forever until the player moves.

NPCs that are not story/side quest related have one dialog reply.

If one NPC is assaulted, every other NPC in a large circle around the player will crouch to the floor in the same animation, even if they did not see the original assault.

NPCs in a car will follow a specific route. If the route is even slightly interupted, for example by your car, they will cease to move forever until you remove the obstruction.

NPCs in a car will not attempt to move or exit their vehicle if you assault them with bullets/another vehicle.

NPCs will not acknowledge the player if they run the player over with their car.

NPCs will not attempt to steal their vehicle back if you steal it from them.

NPCs will not attack you or defend themselves in any way or form, even if engaged upon with just fists.

Police spawn around the player's vision when the player is wanted, forever, until they attempt to hide or drive away.

Police to not attempt to question, warn, or arrest the player for even the smallest crime commited, for example if you bump into them or accidently enter a private area.

Police are incapable of driving cars and chasing the player if they drive away.

Police will not attack hostile targets like Gangs if they are not already doing so in an activity.

Police will know if the player has attacked an NPC in the middle of the badlands and spawn next to the player, without vehicles.

NPCs will rarely thank or acknowledge the player if they are helped by the player.

Scripted NPCs that have dialog will say their dialog then proceed to stand there forever. They will also repeat the same dialog if the player leaves the area and visits again later.

If they intend to expand the shitty police system, they had better to also make NPCs move out of the way when you honk your horn so you dont get flagged for running over civilians. Its silly that the horn is just for... well, nothing.

The civilian NPCs have barely any AI. They have some of the most bare-bones implementation Ive seen. They just walk around, or at most crouch holding their hands above their heads. And even that has a tendency to bug out.

I mean its not the worst. I once played a korean or chinese MMO at a beta stage, where the enemies just stood around like bowling pins and didnt even have any animations. I guess its not quite as bad.

wait what??? they are still removing content in patches? what is removed now??!?!?!??!?!?!

They removed full nudity in the world no matter if you have the option selected or not dispite adamantly selling that from the top down at CDPR. If they did that, how lame are the BDs, strip clubs, or any adult night life feature going to be if those ever come out?
As I said, the only adult content in an adult game, and it's being patched down to PG-13.

Yeah Watchdogs Legion is a lot better in handling these.

I was going to come on here and say, I bet they don't mention anything about the adult content being removed.
