Guess i'm one of the only 13 ppl happy with the current endings.. I've read through most comments in here and a lot of people argue that in the end no matter what you do, V dies so everything to that point is meaningless.
I disagree, first of all the premise of the story is that "there are no live legends", you have to die "possibly in a spectacular way, best if on a job" to get a drink named after you in the afterlife, that's one thing that might drive some people.
But after thinking for a while, didn't V die in the heist? (i might be mistaken here but from what i understood, V died due to Dex shooting us in the head and Viktor says the chip repaired our brain and started "overwriting", thus bringing us back) so technically V being an engram copy or not, doesn't change the fact that V died in the beginning and might already have lost his/her "soul". Also some might argue 6 months are a lot of time to come to terms with the fact that V is gonna die, plenty of time to do w/e. In the ending with Panam it's also hinted that they could travel and find some specialist to help V together.
Altho i prefer it that way because to me, it makes sense there's no happy ending in night city.
Personally i liked it and i can understand it might not be to everyone's taste, but that's no reason to hate so much on the devs.
