Nope. Cause we don't get brain wiped in our sleep. Our neural patters and subconsciousness are quite active when we sleep.

Formatting a hard drive and optimizing it, are 2 very different things.

Formatting a hard drive and copying it are also two very different things.

Might be something here. But when you listen to the news, there's a news report about a cure for either Parkinsons or Alzheimer's one or the other. Could be something else as well, like dementia (going to wait for it to recycle back in), but the point is the news anchor says something in regards to nanobite/nanobots injections once a month into the spinal cord that repairs neural tissue.

Like, it's really not out of the realm of possibility that V's grey matter can be fixed/repaired in some form or fashion. Their nervous system can be salvaged. The same 'nanobots' that destroyed their neural tissue can replace/repair it.

This could be perhaps the treatment that Panam is referring to? But again, eh...

It is mentioned that Biotech developed nanites that can fix neurological stuff.

It would make sense that biotech would have something like this. Do we actually see a lot of biotech in the game? Other than biotech being rather neutral, and having space research stations... which was robbed recently?

I mean, how do you know? (Speaking hypothetically of course) but how would you be able to know you aren't a just copy of the you from yesterday?

SPOILERS FOR SIDE QUEST "THE HUNT". At one part of the job River and you brake into some clinic. At the end of your visit you have chance to ask her(doctor) what she thinks about Relic. Is it possible that Alt and Jhonny lied to us? I mean I know we got shot and that shortcircued chip BUT is there a chance that Jhonny boy and Alt lied? Hellman could have lied to save his ass. We stole chip and we are kinda on Arisakas radar

Alt made that chip basically, she can't fix it? Mention it? Tell you that you need a relic to survive or something? Lol.

She didn't make the chip. Arasaka did. She made the first version of Soulkiller which has gone through 2 more iterations at Arasaka.

It's not like they had spare chips lying around.

*We immediately get zapped with Soulkiller, without us having a say.

This is where the writing took another plunge because V is point blank informed they were going to use Soulkiller on them to separate Johnny and V:

This is during the Pacifica job.

Anyway, Soulkiller or not, all the available endings are awful since they are either:

Suicide
Die in 6 months as disabled, original V
Die in 6 months as Engram V
Become an Engram and Arasaka property (lol)
Go to Cyberspace as Engram V (where AI Alt might eat you)

No matter how you twist or turn it, the character that we start the game as, gets fucked over in all of these outcomes. You begin the game as a nobody, who only had his own life and in the end the game even takes that away from you and heavily implies that the terrorist engram in your head somehow deserves to have your body.

That's why I'm asking for a "new" ending. As it stands, I don't expect any expansion or sequel to bring back V.

Also, a sequel is definitely out of the question. Because, the sequel shouldn't be expected in less 10 years. First of all, multiplayer is scheduled for 2022 and will probably be delayed till 23, and if CDPR is expecting a GTA online type deal, then we are looking at 5 years of full support minimum, add to that at least 2 years of development for the sequel, and we are looking at a 2030 release. That is if we assume that the next game would be Cyberpunk and not the Witcher 4, or something else. No one will remember V by then.
There wont be another witcher, witcher 3 was the last game so most likely either completely new project or Cyberpunk continuation. It will all depend on how they will fix this.

The only ones that truly understand soulkiller are Alt, Saburo and Hanako, we know of the latter because of 2020 lore (Hanako is a very skilled netrunner and Saburo just a very smart man.)
Alt basically "coded" the chip, she made it, with Arasaka tech, but she made it, then Hanako tried to improve it with Saburo but all the tests failed untill V.
Other than zapping Johnny ofc.

Yup. You can look up my posts from the last couple of days. I already ranted a lot about this, because we have no way to say "NO" to her awful plan and we are forced to accept it, to proceed the mission. The Blackwall mission is where our death is pretty much decided.

Sound good but it is a very long shot honestly

Maybe every day when you wake up a completely new consciousness is formed to inhabit your body for the day. Maybe that consciousness disappears and leaves only memories for the next one behind when you go to sleep at night. Your waking spirit could just be an instance that is created and discarded by your brain as needed.

We experience loss of consciousness on a daily basis, but we're not terrified of this, because we simply accept that when we wake up we're still the same person, even though whoever we were in the past is in fact gone and can't experience anything we experience in the present.

This is kinda with what I am going ... "original" V closes eyes, it gets dark like sleep, wakes up again...

Because be real - nothing about the soulkiller-part will change. If at all, we get a DLC post-endings to get rid of the silly six months to die nonsense (if not, they only put it in to make their game more "deep" and "edgy" and, oh god, "mature"...look at our game, how grown up it is ART!!! ART!!!!! Main char dies!!!! Seen Matrix with KEanu!!! He dies too in the end! (And now comes back in part 4, duh...))

Well it is prototype, and it wasn't fully tested, that's what Hellman says, he left before the trials. And Soulkilelr was working perfectly fine since 2020 just that it was probably updated. I doubt Arasaka had only Johnny inside mikoshi.

Well if they do that(keep story dark and edgy), I am pretty sure that not many people will be willing to play game again

They failed to re-introduce soulkiller on living people, sure you could get zapped and it worked but that wasn't the goal of it, the goal was to achieve something similar to V.

Soulkiller and Biochip were completely separate things. Biochip was recently invented as prototype while soulkiller was invented by Arasaka with help of Alt as it seems now. They had ways to put people in Mikoshy but didn't have a way to put them back in Biochip or a person. At least that's what I understood.

No, Alt

Alt created the program that her employers would try to weaponize as the first iteration of Soulkiller. She was later kidnapped by Arasaka and forced to create an improved version of that. The biochip and Soulkiller are two completely separate things, their only connection being that the former is used to store engrams created by the latter.
