Cyberpunk 2077 PC Crash Issues

+
Many pages back someone wrote that switching the game language to Polish through Steam has helped with the crashes for them. I did that through GOG Galaxy and can indeed report that the game seems to crash less. The crashes are not gone completely, but previously every time I opened the inventory was a gamble. I have to switch language to English in the in-game settings every time I start the game, though.
When you change the language, the client downloads 4.3 GB of content, which I assumed were the Polish voice-overs and texts, but apparently it's more than that. For example, on 1.04 with the game set to Polish I had a "track this job" button in the journal, which was not there with the game set to English (it's now completely gone with 1.05). It's almost like in Polish it's a slightly different game, and seemingly more stable.

Has anyone found a way to rollback to 1.04 via Steam?

There's no way with Steam, not directly.

You have to use DepotDownloader and the SteamDB database. Take a look on GitHub, you'll find all the infos

BUT

I do all the stuff to play with the 1.04, but the crashes were still there.

For me, the AppData folders is the best way to have a playable game. At least until the 1.06 ;-)

It might have something to do with DS4Windows. If you're using DS4Windows to play with a controller on your PC, try to play the game without it. I purchased on GOG and use a PS4 controller with DS4Windows, and the game crashes with this error 5-10 minutes into every session. I don't know if you can play with a controller on GOG without using DS4, but on Steam you can, so I added Cyberpunk as a non-Steam game to my Steam library and launched it from there without DS4, and it fixed the issue. This is the only fix that has worked for me, and I've tried verifying the game files, reinstalling the game, reinstalling drivers, updating Windows, disabling the overlay, and reducing overclocks, none of which made any difference.

I just tried this and it immediately seemed more stable. Furthermore, a glitch I was getting seemed to have vanished. Will report back if it changes.

Thank you!
I think that is my problem, for now 30 mins no crash
(i have deleted only the file inside C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\cache).
I think the problem is when we change the settings, UserSettings.json save that current settings but inside to the folder cache remain on previous settings, so the game cause gpu crash.
Nope still crash anyway (today like every 3-5mins)...So for me don't work
13 days from bought and i cant play this game...

So...another day, another solution. Today I was able to resolve problem very fast.
Yesterday after turning PBO off saved my day. Today another crashes occured. It is strange that only in full screen. But today, there were also errors in event log. There were Dolby software crashing. So I uninstalled all about Dolby and Atmos and voila, another evening with Cyberpunk, all settings sky high (rt + dlss + qhd).

For information. My error was always about GPU error. So it seems, game doesnt like any software and hardware bottlenecks. Its strange, there are so many people with so many solutions....

Thanks for the info.
After all I also did not need to resort to a rollback.

Deleting AppData and turning off RAM overclocking via bios resolved any crashes and made the game stable again. (although going back to 2333 MHZ from 3200 MHZ did screw up the performance a bit)

My game crashes after the character selection before the first dialog starts. Sometimes I can still listen to a few seconds of the dialog. In the main menu and in the character selection everything works fine.

Tried solutions:
Reinstall, FPS Limit, Window Mode, Driver New, Run as Administrator, Steam Overlay disabled, AppData deleted, low-mid-high settings, no overclocking

Does anyone have the problem now (1.06), or was able to solve it?

Ryzen 7 2700x
GTX 1080
16 GB DDR4
Win 10

For the record, I experienced crashes with following errors (i7 7700K, RTX 3080, 16GB DDR4):
Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x321ECE8F17B.
File: <Unknown>(0)
Error reason: Assert
Expression: <Unknown>
Message: Out of Memory! Failed to allocate XXX bytes with alignment 16 from pool 'PoolAnimFacial' using 'DefaultAllocator'
File: e:\r6.patch0hotfix2\dev\src\common\redmemory\src\oomhandlerbreak.cpp(37)
After testing all the suggested solutions, I started testing the RAM based on the log content. And finally it turned out that in my case the Windows paging file was disabled... I don't know how or when. Errors ended after the paging file size was set to a default value. So if someone has the same problems, I suggest increasing the size of this file.

Hello, if someone on PC can test this with me.
every time i drive in this region white marked, im crashing the game.

Can someone on PC can test this if happens with you too.

Here is the stacktrace:

Code:
Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x0.
File: <Unknown>(0)

So when I launch the game it locks up and goes to black when showing the Red Engine logo (sound effects play for a while) and after a while it kicks me to the desktop with the infamous flatlined message. Sometimes it crashes when the red bird logo comes up. However if I reboot a couple of times it runs fine. If I play the game for a while, exit and launch it again it locks up again. I have updated to the latest version of Cybepunk and the crashes are becoming more and more frequent with each update. I am on the latest AMD drivers, i've even used DDU to clear out my drivers and reinstall from scratch, i've under volted the card in case it was a temp issue. I have updated Windows. Nothing seems to work.

Other games that push my GPU like red dead 2, cod etc run fine. Any one else experienced this or can point me in the right direction?

Well, now I got a new crash. I managed to turn of dep for the game, it worked great for about an hour. Apparently, the game is attempting to use memory from areas it's not supposed to. No earthly idea on what to do now,

Patch 1.06..
Still getting Flatline error,
Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
File: <Unknown>(0)

Turn off or on Raytracing and DLSS--don't work
Delete cache folder in appdata--don't work
Clean install GPU drivers, verify game(Steam)--Don't work
run game in admin--not only doesn't work, it turn Flatlined error into bluescreen and system freeze

I can only play 15 minutes before it crashes...15 minutes...guess i won't see that get fixed before Christmas

Oh well looks like 'll keep playing on 1.03 for now. Had to start a new game but it doesn't seem to flatline as often.

One thing I have noticed, the flatlining starts to get worse about 40% into the story. I've started a new game on 1.04, 1.05 and now 1.03. I'll see if it starts to flatline in 1.03 in a day or two.

PC:
i7 3960X
RTX2070

Good luck guys

i dont think that game patches will fix these issues.

if the game was stable for you before 1.05 and you use a ryzen 4 or 6 core cpu, its very likely the increased cpu utilization triggerd instabilities.
on the plus side, this gives you a good place to start looking whats wrong.
i suggest to test the cpu with prime95. try different stress tests, let them run for at least an hour.

the(0xC0000005) access violation errors indicate that the process tries to access memory it is not allowed to access. these usually are triggerd by ram or cpu instabilities.

1.06 - as always cant even start the game. Status: waiting for "CyberPatch 2.077"

After updates 1.04, 1.05, and now 1.06,, I encourage modders to make an in-game stress test tool / mod to check different PC troubleshooting configs in the same scenario..

Just 2 quick words: game in Windows 10 still crashing as soon as I push PLAY in GOG. 14 days, and I was just able to play 2 hours (under windows 7) but with constant crashing that RESTART my pc and cause Windows to spend 15 minutes checking ALL hard drives... so once again, I won't risk hard disk issues for just one game. Every refund has been rejected by the Key Store where I bought it, so NEVER AGAIN preorder on a key website.

I fear that the problem will never be fixed.

(of course I tried every single thing suggested in this thread, to no avail)
