Adult Game?

Ha ha, that's another subject. Can't show someones nipples but you beat someone to death with a dildo or lop their head off no problem!
Yes. Somehow violence is absolutely ok BUT showing human skin and intimate human pleasure is wrong. It's mindboggling.

Could you please tell me what was in the launch version of the game that was censored in the updates? Any specific examples?
Scenes which showed nipples now have what appears to be electrical tape in an x covering the nipples. Some shirts where breasts could be seen from the side now have what look like plastic bra cups added. Dancers in the windows of the sex clubs who were in various stages of undress are now fully clothed to the point where some of the men are wearing full suits. Just a few off the top of my head.

None of us want CP2077 turned into an actual porn game. We just want back what was in 1.02: player nudity (especially for the shower scene), male nudity, and strippers without the pasties.
Well, there is a lot more pressure from regulators, families, members of the church and politicians to keep things restrictive. Eroticism and sexual arousal are still not accepted by the broad public. And a big game like CP2077 is more likely to get LESS exciting over time than the other way around.

Wow. Thanks. I didn't notice the change, but it would be great if someone had screenshots for comparison.

The dildo sword was changed to a normal non iconic shock baton in certain regional releases at Sony's request.

Sex and pornography can't be sold on the mass market. The general public openly rejects it and politicians will put pressure on every industry that does not self-regulate in the public interest. Of course, everyone enjoys it, but it has to stay in private. Therefore you all better wait for unofficial mods, because there will be no official sexual or pornographic content for CP2077 from CDPR.

Yeah that is because Steam sells that stuff on the mass market. And no mild stuff at that as well. If ppl like it or not but pornography is already and established market branch in gaming and it is growing fast. You are either on board with it or will get steamrolled by it. The amount of money they already generate is ridiculous. And much on steam in that regard is absolutely horrible. Yet it sells like sliced bread.

Wrong guess.

But also, I don't see that we actually disagree here.

Yes, there are great interest and demand for the adult market. Absolutely. But Cyberpunk 2077 is too big. If it was more of a niche product, with less of an expected public interest, it could very well contain more pornographic content. But the industry is self-regulating against mass exposure to said pornographic content. CDPR won't act against industry standards here. Because even if CDPR decided to give us more sex and porn in the game, Sony and Microsoft would surely intervene. EDIT.: Also CDPR are not the ones who call the shots in what actually is considered pornographic and what is just erotic or enticing. Those decisions lie with the ESRB.

Agony on Steam did it, though. and AO content is fine on Steam, GOG themselves host AO games, but, other distributors, I don't know.

No one would intervene if they made an Unrated PC version.

That was the only thing I was trying to lead into. As I respect art, in its uncut state, period.

I used the dildo to beat up the worst punks in Night City. For example, I used it to "penetrate" Oswald Forrest or better known as Woodman. I deemed it perfect for dealing out ironic punishment.

Nope. I bought and Adult game and i want my adult content. There are many hookers in this game or places that clearly indicate a brothel or a strip bar. I want to go in there and watch some braindances of some females, males whatever someone likes in that regard. We already have sex scenes in the game as well so adding more mild stuff in that regard can't be an argument against nudity. Especially since the game is meant for adults. If parents start arguing against that i suggest they do their job and watch what their children play. And children don't have work or money so who is buying adult games for them? You see where i go with this?
I am tired of getting games ruined or cut to pieces because some parents are not capable of doing their job. GTA 5 even has a family friendly mod since parents are not capable of doing anything aside from buying games they know nothing about.

I mean, if you are on console, or in a nation with laws, they won't break those laws, or face the game permabanned on the console shelves. If you really want uncut content, ask for an unrated PC version on Steam, which still would be bound by national laws.

Ok, look at SUBVERSE from StudioFow. I seriously doubt that it could have been developed with traditional shareholder money. This game won't come out on Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo Consoles. It won't be able to be advertised like Cyberpunk 2077 and it won't sell physical copies in stores around the world. There will be no big commercials on TV for this thing and the news coverage will be less than flattering, I assure you. If you want to go big and triple-AAA, you have to self-regulate. (And I know Cyberpunk 2077 is not Subverse, but my point is, that we will probably have to wait for another decade for a real uncensored triple-AAA experience without compromises and nipple-tape.)

Yeah, I doubt even then. This industry wants money above all. Children draw in more sales.

Yet it already got money in the millions. And will do more once it releases. And yes i agree that shareholders etc will not back up any of that sort of material. But considering the fact that prostitution is forbidden in the USA yet they are the worlds greatest producer of pornography will ensure that pornography in gaming will make a ton of money. And what i experienced in my life is that once you see how much money you could have instead of what you atm have. Morals fly out the window faster than you can blink.

Nope. Not even close.

It was never going to be an adult game. Gimmicky bullshit like penis sliders only served to add fuel to the hype train. As soon as I seen they weren't pushing for that adult ratinng which is AO18 I knew to expect nothing from that feature.

We live in a ridiculous Puritan world we're death and dismemberment is rated t for teen but a erect penis needs a rating above mature.

The released the game slightly adult M. Since the release, the first few patches has brought it down to PG-13, even though there are still options to bring it to an adult rating that make no sense.

Oh, I don't disagree with you. I just know how the heads of companies look at numbers. They don't think of adults. They think about how well they can reach the market. Uncut on PC is our best bet until the big consoles stop this policy.

If you have shareholders breathing down your neck, you wouldn't try anything funny or controversial yourself. And pushing the boundaries of what is considered the appropriate amount of sexual content in your triple-AAA game would be quite a gamble. Accessibility beats appeal here.

As far as I know the Dildo club (it's a blunt weapon) is still on the xbox version.

Regional versions further censored the game, based on location.
Not console.
But reports are that it was that most of the last min changes were at the request of Sony, and not CDPR.
But they were pressured to censor content or they wouldn't be able to release the game on PS.

So basically, CDPR released an unfinished game missing tons of content and the solution so far has been stop the bleeding by trying to patch the game, and then removing even more content . Not the course of action I would have taken I must say. I actually had been enjoying the game even with the occasional glitches and was holding out hope that future fixes and DLC would eventually deliver the game we were promised for all these years. But as time passes, and I pass by guys in business suits dancing in the windows of Sex Clubs, I'm beginning to think more and more that isn't going to happen. I hope I'm wrong.
