Adult Game?

So basically, CDPR released an unfinished game missing tons of content and the solution so far has been stop the bleeding by trying to patch the game, and then removing even more content . Not the course of action I would have taken I must say. I actually had been enjoying the game even with the occasional glitches and was holding out hope that future fixes and DLC would eventually deliver the game we were promised for all these years. But as time passes, and I pass by guys in business suits dancing in the windows of Sex Clubs, I'm beginning to think more and more that isn't going to happen. I hope I'm wrong.

I do not understand how anyone thought a console game would not be locked to region censorship according to region, in order to legally sell its copies in the first place. I guess I'm just confused from a legal standpoint.

If you push for an uncut PC version you people actually would have some clout, otherwise, it's just useless discussion.

Don't you know? It's CDPRs fault that the country these people live in has idiotic laws. In my country, warning labels are enough, the rest is up to the people buying the product. You can buy porn magazines in the grocery store.

Or, well, you could until they all went out of business because of the internet.

This topic makes. Me. So sad. Unbelievable

I can feel with you guys that that silent out patching off nudity after advertising and selling us this content is the biggest no go. Even mods and people thought it was a bug and after a time a dev said like: "well it's intended like this, thank you for your concerns"

When I saw that I was shocked. 4 times asking for a refund. Steam says no. Sad story.

Not going to happen, consoles do not allow for releasing games with over an M+ rating. They couldn't ship any updates that increased the rating to AO on console, it's almost like you guys don't follow the laws related to gaming sales for all platforms. San Andreas had this issue originally which required Rockstar to completely patch out the Hot Coffee bug or Microsoft and Sony were going to discontinue sales. It's the only console game that has ever been sold even temporarily with the AO rating. They were never going to be able to ship and keep all of that and it seems likely their lawyers contacted them immediately and made them aware that the game couldn't be shipped on Microsoft or Sony platforms in any country that follows ESRB ratings.

So? Consoles and PC are developed differently in nearly every aspect. Updates for PC have nothing to do with Updates for Consoles. They can patch one without touching the other. They only need to create two different sets of models that have to be updated separately (I know, it is more complicated. For arguments sake, keep it simple).

One of the main issue with this, is that they censored their game on a global level instead of a regional one.

As @Tracido mentioned, their government f.e. has stricter rules for censorship than others. Which makes it harder (if not impossible) to sell copies if you are to "mature". So, to keep sales up and avoid any kind of trouble, CDPR chose (the lazy approach, as with most parts of the game, so no surprise there) to censore it for everyone, instead of implementing regional censorship.

Just a few examples that it can be done, has been done and hopefully will be done again: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regionally_censored_video_games
There is actually one example missing here: The original C&C (developed by Westwood Studios at the time) had a lot of content removed / changed for their German release (scenes with Hitler, Robots instead of human soldiers, etc.)

I think some people believe adding true nakedness to the game is just pervy but as a person IRL with a wife and kids and not having a need for porn for over 20 years, I do agree that having naked bodies and true sex type scenes in this game just fits and it's very jarring not having it.
there are some very disturbing subjects covered in the game in great detail, slavery/people trade, exploitation of minors, rape, torture, it goes on and on so why is a naked body such a bad thing to see, a murdered and defiled naked body is fine, but living people who choose to use there body's need to be clothed at all times often in suits or Workman's cloths. ( naked woman in a bath that has been abused is in the game)
Seems the subject of raping a small boy and killing him with a description of these fine, but consensual sex scenes with full nakedness so taboo. ?

I've played on 10th December from the minute that it could be played in EU

If you play on PC, in EU, nothing has changed. The only thing they did was fix the bug where a penis would show even with pants on.

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that they blatantly lied about nudity, since you've been showering with your underwear on since release.

Do you guys in the EU have the horribly drawn underwear on all the NPCs? Or every single outfit has the nipples covered if you can see them? Random fully clothed strippers in the windows?

This is what I don't get and it drives me nuts. And by the way that you didn't need porn for 20 years.. I mean respect.. We all had those lonely nights and wanted to feel good so

But jeah back to topic. I totally agree with you.

They are literally dealing with the most messed up launch i can imagine they could have.

Anything addressing something so trivial as this will be globally dealt with until they have time.

They uncensored their original Witcher years later on PC, they can, and may in fact do that here, according to region limitations of, course. It just can't happen overnight.

Yes we have this but some people written it was not like that in the version 1 at the release. It was watered down to the boxers with 1.2 or 1.3 and as I heard again wit 1.5 where clothes where more solid and less sneak peak.

Edit: and I am really really pissed off about that fact it happened silently without mentioning in the changelog or a statement. Even thought it was a bug bot no. Was intended.

I played minute 1 of release. Very shortly after, there was a patch added before I loaded up the game the second time. Every single patch so far has been editing out any sort of nudity little by little, but nothing has been mentioned in the patch notes what-so-ever.

Jeah and we should ask us why they do it nearly every patch step by step without having the spine to put it in the changelog when it was supposed to be like dev confirmed?

Yeah because strippers wearing cargo pants and a hoodie doesn't break immersion AT ALL.

/facepalm

Hey don't be harsh to him. He told us he is lonely and don't have someone to care for his needs. And it's hard to play games with shooter elements and try to dual wield everything.

I tried to check but I never really paid much attention to be perfectly honest. All I know is that in the scene after your first encounter with Johnny in your apartment you always had those dumb painted on undies on. Which is just... baffling cause you can see everything in sex scenes. The logic is just... non-existent.

Jeah Immersion breaking sadly. And it was patched out 1.1/1.2 and surely wasn't in the game with 1.3.

It is so trivial that is a major point in quite some forum posts and is, at the moment, breaking the forum rules. Simply because even CDPR know they f*cked up and don't want to be reminded.

Every company that is listed in the wiki-post I linked had their regional censoring done BEFORE RELEASE !!!!!

And your argument "They uncensored their original Witcher years later on PC" shows that they are no strangers to such kinds of censorship. There is even a list of things that were changed in Witcher 3 to meet requirements for some foreign markets.

So. No. That kind of censorship is a result of disregarding any kind of experience they gained during their other projects. Which shows in worldbuilding, characters, quests and now in this kind of censoring.

As I wrote in my other post: CDPR chose (the lazy approach, as with most parts of the game [...])

Despite all of that I do agree with you. This launch was a mess and they should focus on fixing it.
