Why did they make the actual sexual content so scarce?

I guess that the sexual content in the game isn't as present as it could be because otherwise, it would be classified as a p0rn game and wouldn't be sold on mainstream platforms, or in a severely cut version.

I've been in the BDSM scene in real life, anything sexual is a disappointment in video games for the most part..

I don't know anything about the BDSM scene, and I think it would be awesome to explore it in a game like Cyberpunk. Fuck CDPR, hire some BDSM subject matter experts and lets see a DLC.

This all depends on country, though. Some places consider less to be pornographic, some more. I think it's a damaged artform from all the mass marketing involvement.

This game's majority of player base will be console as the PC market that can run it is not large enough to cover the investment costs.

I mean, this is a nice idea, but how will you market this DLC? Who can purchase it when the consoles will be locked out? Questions the sales team would need answered.

Hopefully at the end there will be a solution but before this I would love a statement of CDRed about this fact that every patch something got watered down.

Tried to get back into the game.. Impossible. Tried to play StreetKid.. 15 Minute Prolog and that's it. I barely could immerse into it.

The logic is simple, money. My nation loves death and murder, gore and violence in prime time TV and kids shows. However, anything that has just enough suggestive content will get removed even if just a commercial. My nation offers the MOST sales.

It is capitalism, simple.
Wrong, or there wouldn't be a porn industry. It's a skewed sense of morality shaped by centuries of religious and cultural evolution and de-evolution... which is a useless observation, since it is as it is right now, and a single video game in the sea of entertainment media won't change that.

In a game with genital customization and where sex was pushed heavily in the marketing, and where sex is a HUGE part of the environment (sex shops, red light districts, strip clubs, prostitutes, EVERYWHERE) there is almost no sexual content in the game.

Despite the huge amount of sexual themes and settings, the sexual content that you as your avatar can actually engage with is completely bare bones.

It's also pretty bizarre that there are 1000 strip clubs and you can't actually, you know, see any strippers.

Did they wuss out on this aspect or did they just run out of time and couldn't beef it up more?

The game would get an AO rating and would be pulled from every major retailer or store front outside of nutaku or sites like that. And before you say the witcher had more intense scenes then whats in cyberpunk the screen literally goes off screen or fades to black you dont see anything outside of the maybe 1st kiss the GTA games are the same way in fact if you get the non north america versions those sections that your talking about are even censored even more.

Game is weak, nothing kept what was promised, really nothing. I can´t recommend this game, also cuz i miss the adult stuff in that game.
Can they pls at least remove the adult advertisements and adult shops in the game and replace it with Flower or Sports Shops. And advertisements they should replace with kids advertisements a la fortnite or spongebob, teletubbies.

If not full, then add nothing, such half-half solutions is only a reminder that we adults are placeholders for the kiddies as coming customers. So we adults can never enjoy a quality AAA Game which contains all: quality content, story, violence, music and sex, all placed in an open world.

i hope at least they let have the programmcodes or what is needed for the guys on nexusmods and loverslab.

For example, if u compare Skyrim with all the mods, u think, damn, is that game new? (there are also now new fight-mechanics, and double wielding animations possible)

Pornography in film, for example has easier distribution and marketing because you don't have to buy a corporate sponsored box that plays it. All media playing video handle it fine.

Which changes the playing field in gaming. If you think you can take on the big three companies that rule this choice, by all means, I support you. I tried already during the Manhunt 2 fiasco, where that game was forced to be censored for having all the violence, but daring to do it from behind..

i personally think it was just a cool little selling point and a gimmick, they probably should have expected the audience to go nuts with wild fantasies as gamers tend to do. maybe they trusted the audience's common sense too much? because i don't see any point to having a penis slider or even a penis showing other than offering a level of customization for the "immersion' factor. it's not like they're actually going to model it going in and out during sex scenes. i imagine they could have used a "going to toilet" animation where it would be seen, or maybe when using showers. but those are things gamers do once or twice and never do again, worth it for the budgetary costs? i don't know

ps. i don't think they made it "scare", it's actually all around the city in the form of billboards, npcs dressed like prostitutes. also, there are 4 joytoys, not just 2. i think what they did was enough to convey the idea they were going for, that degeneracy, sexuality, pornography, and commodifying sex was a big thing in 2077, and i think they got that point across. what went wrong here is that people believed they were getting more interactive sexual content. maybe they could have gone with 6 or even 8 joytoys instead of 4. maybe they could have let players have sex with random npcs as the earliest gameplay footage did seem to suggest.

maybe instead of saying "wait and see" to some of those probing questions, they could have been more direct and said "no we are not going to be doing porn and snuff in the game, there will be sex with npcs, but it won't be all of them, there won't be braindances where you see people getting raped, tortured, snuffed out, or any of the sasha devon porno braindances". maybe they could have said that, but then again, they're trying to sell a product. it's the consumer's own responsibility to curb their expectations.

After playing a the game and witnessing the fates of some characters as well as having to break up more than one smut braindance operation... I would think V (and the player) would be pretty disillusioned with the consumer side economics of sex in Night City.

Not gonna lie I'm a little disappointed in how the game is showcasing a dystopian society ripe with themes of corporations pacifying the masses with sex... and then coming here to see people are complaining you can't partake. I thought the game was pretty in your face about that side of this future being a bad thing you shouldn't actually want.

Yea, no, not really... they are telling aus about it... that's what PSA's do too. This is not 8mm, it's a videogame with edgy marketing pretending to be "mature".

I'm telling you, though if you want an RPG with Adult Only content, Subverse on Steam is still coming. If you want horror at an Adult Only level, Lust From Beyond is coming in a few months as well there, and if you want Adult Only action, Succubus is also coming to Steam. They can NEVER come to consoles, though, and therefore, can never have big open world games.

I know, and I'm actually looking forward to Subverse, if anything, I hope it can show certain people that - especially when handled in the right way (say as a satire) - stuff like that can work in "higher profile" games too. We knew that once, mind you, we've been on a good way, even, think back to the Larry games,... we just lost the plot at some point... through the rise of the global market, questionable social science, etc.

Yeah, but, do you know what the Agony devs had to go through to uncensor their game after they launched? They were bound by Sony's contract that they could not even TELL the fans they would be able to release an uncut version once CONSOLE sales subsided..

Meaning, that might be an issue here in particular..

I know, I followed Agonie's development back in the day... pity the game itself had other issues.

Still, I kinda hoped that CDPR - looking at the unique position they had for years now in the market - could be the one developer to finally push the envelope in a way that could have broken down a few barriers... ah well.

Are we still on CP2077 topic here or just random thoughts on other games? This kind of discussion is welcome, either in PMs or in Community section.
