I'd love to find some BDs during my roaming time or while doing a quest...

Imagine after kicking some butts you find a BD in a car, lying on a desk or on an NPC's body whatever, and after going to somewhere quieter, you start to watch it. There, you can witness a shady deal in a dangerous slum going terribly wrong with "cherry pie" all over the walls.
Inside this chaos you find a clue, something that make you want to know more (a tatoo related to a certain gang or high grade military stuff which has nothing to do in here, a weird noise reminding of a detonator for an explosive device, anything that increases your curiosity) and this could lead to a new GIG or side quest.

I don't know I feel there is so much room for more content and narratives with BDs, I really hope CDPR will integrate those a some point.
I think that was part of their attention, BDs in general and the functionality that they have put into this system is hardly used in the game. I think I can recall 4 times it was use in my 125 hour playthrough and one of them was the tutorial, so lets say 3.

Spoiler so dont open if you dont want to get spoiled;

There was side quest i did, where this one guy sold a BD and said it would only work with his setup, you paid 20k €$ for that BD and in the end you end up getting taken by the scavengers from the beginning where you had to rescue the woman.
PRETTY COOL mission if you ask me. i liked that one very much!

It also doesn't help that you can actively buy BDs and find them in the game but then can do nothing with them. Even though Judy gives you the device needed to watch them. I understand their being junk items to break down cause crafting and all but I totally disagree with there being items that can be acquired, like BDs, that serve no use what so ever.

Edit: Also all the BDs have this lame caption that says something like "You do not have the software required." Really?

@Moxy Yes I did this quest, it was well...surprising ;)

One of the random quest I really enjoyed to do, totally in the vein of what I was talking above and I expected to find more tbh

Is it really worth doing? When I talked to him is was sketchy as hell so I made him give my money back lol. I even tried to put one in his head but the game wouldn't let me :(

I don't want to say too much here on the forums but if you accept his offer you're good for a (not so unexpected) hell of a ride ;)

Tired of this question of censorship. So uncreative and narrow minded. It's a game. So just have an option that blurs certain body parts. Turn it off for the Full Monty. Turn it on to blur out nasty bits.

Totally sucks BD's are used so little. I was hoping they would unlock quests, add to the lore, and just be fun to play through.

If people complain after giving them a choice then they are just being Puritans and want to impose their beliefs on others. Which is a dick move no matter which way you shake it.

To me it's obvious that this functionality was removed from the game, both from the apartment, which is clearly visible in the first trailer they released when V opens the windows, but also as you say that you can buy them, but they are not marked as junk so you can't use them for anything.

It is so much more then that though. It is a very fine line between a game being rate M or rated AO is this regard. CP gets right up to that line but doesn't cross it and its not because of uncreative or narrow mindedness. It is because AO rated games are, in my opinion, the black sheep of the industry so to speak. Mostly out of ignorance but still. Most markets refuse to touch a game that is rated AO and even when they agree to sell a AO game it is with extreme restrictions. For example, when I worked as a manager for Gamestop we had a rated AO game that we sold and we where not allowed to have any marketing up for it. We where not allowed to display the game anywhere in any way in the store. Also the only time we could talk about the game with a customer was when they inquired about it first. Also every single copy of that game had to be locked in a cabinet that couldn't be seen into and that only managers had the key to. This kind of stuff is why, in my opinion, game companies avoid the AO rating and until this changes they will continue to avoid it.

To me it simply illustrate how far behind these ratings and some people are compared to reality. Anyone with access to the internet can find porn or naked people in less than 5 seconds or they can go watch a standard movie on Netflix and there is a good chance that there are a naked or partially naked person in it.

But in games, amongst all the cut off limbs and random killing, are you insane, don't even talk about it? :)

The rating system should simply state that a game is not for children, if it contains extreme violence, nudity and what other things that they find inappropriate and that's it. All the bullshit that the use of drugs, alcohol etc. encourage people to do this is absolutely false. It's not like GTA causes children to drive like maniacs on the street and shoot everyone on sight, because you can do it in that game.

Yeah i agree witht he rating systems. They're pretty wierd with sometimes quite arbitrary rules, which aren't even present in the actual society.

While i'm not much surfing forums for some TV series, i can't imagine huge discussions about James Bond and such needing more nudity and sex, as it's all about spycraft and sex is such a common thing in such ... So yeah... i'll keep asking "Why exactly? Instead of concentrating on other less well represented parts of the genre and immersions, like e.g. V actually visiting a toilet or stuff..." ;)

There are many things you can do with braindance. Sex is the least interesting of them, I'd rather they add more joytoys and encounters like it was hinted in the 2018 Demo

You are right anyone with a computer and the internet can easily find porn with in seconds with a simple google search. That being said, the ease of access in no way effects the law.

Selling/giving a game to a minor with extreme violence, drug and alcohol use, and limbs being cut off is not a crime (in the United States), morally questionable maybe.

Selling/giving a game with porn in it to a minor is a fucking felony (in the United States) even if you are their parent! Your comparisons are uninformed and ridiculous.

There are also a slew of other legal reasons markets almost always refuse to touch AO games. Lets be honest to vast majority of AO games get that rating because of sexual content that could be considered, and more often then not is, porn. There is just to much liability you have to take on as a seller and a game developer when making/selling a AO game like that and it is just not worth the risk.

I have never heard that about any movie or T.V. show either, not saying it doesn't happen, but I would be really surprised if it was common :)

I think you misunderstand me, I am well aware that many countries doesn't allow it. I think it's ridiculous, because it doesn't make sense.

Its like forcing people to drink alcohol from a paper bag in public, when everyone knows what it is. Personally I just don't care about these things, because they are silly, but have no problems understanding that these are issues in certain countries.

I about just going to let lie the many things very wrong with your comment and just say this....

Drinking alcohol from a paper bag in public is still illegal. The paper bag doesn't magically make it legal to drink it in public. Also having to be placed in paper bags when you buy it has nothing to do with drinking in public anyway.

Then you should understand why game companies and sellers don't want to take on that kind of liability. It just not worth the risk.

No, but putting it in a bag is most likely an "unwritten" rule that allow those that want to, to minimize their chance of the police caring to much about it, otherwise they wouldn't do it.

And I understand that companies want to maximize their profits and it's a jungle for them to navigate all these silly rules, so I have no huge issue with CDPR having to fall inline as everyone else, but doesn't change that I still think it's outdated.

So, I dunno if I get that right, please correct me.

In this game, Cyberpunk, where we talk about adding back and not cutting out the sexual topic and include the exploration of sex as a topic in various ways.
This very game is already rated as being M or something like that in the US (or elsewhere), right? (so it's for an audience of above 18 or 21?)
So please educate me, how this would affect the rating or the impact on minors or anything if they would include said topics?

Tl;Dr:
It's a game for adults (18+), so why are there still censorships happening?!
It doesn't make any sense - at all -

What i wonder is, how is it CDPR's responsibility to watch out that kids dont watch or play stuff like this. Its the responsibility of parents, yet companies get punished for including such things.
