Panam Palmer Storyline/Sidequests DLC [Spoilers]

+
Ahahaha yes, i completely agree with you. When panam story line end, i feel empty. In the panam ending, when we hug her (before heading up to the tunnel), it really warms my heart.. but after that, i feel sad again because i cant do anything with her in the endgame. (Except call her and repeat always the same things or complete her ending over and over, that im actually doing everyday
:ROFLMAO: ). Anyways, as i said, i hope they at least let us know something regarding dlc and the adding of more romance options, in the firsts of 2021. And meanwhile, if you really like panam like me and want to do something, create a new save, restart the game, reach her first mission and save. Put easy difficulty, focus on main story and complete it. Then reload the save and restart everything from panam first mission  i know is sad, but at least, when im doing mission with panam im happy to play tho
Big props to u my friend as said I couldn't do this in the slightest way. I mean I was thinking about it today to play her story again but am I ready for the dark days after? I mean 2021 shouldn't already start with bad days u know. XD

Yep me too :/

And the thing with the saves, I knew little things what to expect of the story, etc. so I played all main and sidequests that I wanted to experience and left ALL Panam stuff till the end (Main and Sidemissions+End) and did a save so if I would really feel to do so, I could play the hole experience at once from the start to the end and in-between there are 8 manual saves aswell between the missions so you are not the only one who had a plan XD

Guys, i read all your replies and i see how this characters (Panam, Judy and others) are important for many players. I want to believe that devs will pay attention to community's desires and let V get happy ending with Panam, Judy and Aldecaldos. I strongly disagree that cyberpunk cant have happy endings.
Personally I think that 2 of 5 endings have great potential to expand or develop.
These are Aldecaldo and Secret ending. The main difference between them is that aldecaldo ending is not only good (or even the best) but happy ending, while i cant say in the same way about secret one. Of course it is good ending too, because you become the Legend of NC and none of your friends die. But what did it cost? You have claimed the top of this city and in the same time you moved away your nearest friends (Panam and Judy were very dissapointed of you, because you decided to fight against Arasaka alone). And what intentions does Mr Blue Eyes (aka Gaunter O'Dimm) have? Does he really want to help V or he wants to use V in his shadow business?
That why i look forward to devs' answers or their vision of future DLC. I really want to see more Panam and V (Judy and V) emotions, dialogues, feellings and their adventures in Arizona where they find cure for V.
Sorry for my English, im Russian))

Love devs only because they created panam. I couldnt ever imagine to see a character well made like her in a videogame.
I dont understand how can some people dont like Panam.
I feel an immense love for her, really...

I also think that V storyline should be completed. Otherwise why do devs tell us about Misty's tarot cards, about some rippers or scientists or other specialists from certain state(Arizona) who can probably help V? Why do they leave us "The Iliad" shard in the "All Along the Watch Tower" quest?
[...]For my mother the goddess, silver-footed Thetis, telleth me that twofold fates are bearing me toward the doom of death:
if I abide here and war about the city of the Trojans, then lost is my home-return, but my renown shall be imperishable;
but if I return home to my dear native land, lost then is my glorious renown, yet shall my life long endure, neither shall the doom of death come soon upon me.
Aye, and I would counsel you others also to sail back to your homes; seeing there is no more hope that ye shall win the goal of steep Ilios...

All these examples are parts of something that devs should tell us in 2021))
Am I right, guys?

In a perfect world, it would be a team up with Panam and Judy, working together. An issue from Militech that both have a vested interest in solving. Would also let Panam and Judy bond a bit, so perhaps one of them would open their horizons to more options. A mission or 2 with Judy. One or two with Panam, then a final big mission with both.

But would take a Panam over Judy focus.

You're absolutely right. I don't think they included The Chariot, Lovers and The Sun tarot cards for no reason. Nor do I believe they added that passage from the Iliad for no reason. Here's hoping they continue the story post ending and we can get a Corvo Bianco esque send off for V in the final expansion. :)

As for more Panam content, I mentioned this in another thread but I'll mention it here as well. To those saying that any new content will still lead to people feeling the same once it's over, that wouldn't be the case with certain repeatable content.

This is where CDPR can make this shine, as it's repeatable content that can be played however/whenever you want and adds more interactions. Valhalla allowed you to either play a board game with your romance, play a drinking game, or compete against them in archery. During either of these, there is playful teasing couples banter that really makes it feel like a real relationship.

This can be done with the romances in this game through a few ways:

  • Racing. Just like the racing with Claire, imagine riding with Panam or Judy in competitive racing. Repeatable content. Different tracks. Can offer unique romance banter throughout. Adds more value.

  • Some sort of board/card game. From the studio that made Gwent, surely they can come up with something. Similarly to how Valhalla handles it, you can have playful competitive background dialogue with your romance partner in game that varies depending on who is winning/what happens.

  • Some sort of date with dynamic dialogue. Can take Judy out to eat. Sit around a campfire in the badlands with Panam. Or even something as simple as going for a drive. There can be 2-3 variations of the dialogue exchanges in there that can be randomized. That way if you do it every now and then over the course of the game it'll still be unique.

  • Being able to initiate a kiss or sex scene with them when you're there physically. Again, even AC Valhalla does this. CDPR is leading the romance department everywhere else, but dynamic interactions that will add SO MUCH life to them are currently lacking.

  • The lack of being able to sleep at their place, or have them over at yours is also strange. CDPR did this, albeit through an Expansion, with Corvo Bianco. Allowing Yennefer or Triss to hang out around the estate, have several new dialogue responses, and sleep in the bed at night time. Currently there is virtually NO reason to keep returning to your apartment. Having your romance move in with you would go a long way in giving you a reason to keep going back there. And there's no reason not to. After you finish their final quest, they hang out at one spot for the remainder of the game. Why can't it at least be at your place? Not like they have to be somewhere else due to story reasons.
In summary, more dynamic content needs to be added to fill in the huge gap between the end of the romance quest, and the ending of the game. The game feels so empty in between because everything goes so silent from them. Part of what made the first half or so great was periodically getting a call and getting to interact with the romances as you went about doing side quests.

While I agree with your take on this. Would it not be sensible to make a petition out of this? We would increase the odds of making it actually happen.

Agree, it can be a good idea. The devs sould see interest of community to these characters and their relations with V. I have seen many replies and even vote on the different sections of the forum where people offer to continue and complete V's storyline with Panam (with Judy). How can devs be blind to the community's desires and ignore those possibilities of story expansion that they made themselves?

Pretty good points as well!!! Also thought over that point and I think this would also be a cool feature like GTA online got it with random events:

What i think could be also a cool addition to the game with the romance stuff and more sidemissions with them
would be the fact that besides the activities, companion mode etc., that there are some side events with your romances like minimissions. For example when u are with Panam (Aldecaldos), u get a call that they need supplies for the camp and ask if u can help them steal them from another clan or there is a Militech convoy leaving NC and you have to hijack it that they get new weapons. Another one would be that the camp is under attack, and u could come and help them out. Something like that, I am pretty sure is possible for every romance in the game. Like I know u would be able to do it with Judy and clouds for example. Not every 20 minutes but in like 4 hours realtime or so that it don't feels like the same thing over and over again but still have missions to do with you romances. If u don't want/have time to do it rn, you could just reject it and move on. That way u have events (missions) beside dates, etc. that you can do with your romance/friends from time to time. Something that lets the game be more alive after u finished quests, etc.

(Sorry, copy pasta from another thread)

If somebody knows something about a petition, just let me know i would be down. So would be many others i think.
I would even pay for this stuff (DLC with Pan) if its as good written as the current (to short) story tbh.

You can start a petition of a sort on the forum, just by making a thread about the subject if I'm right. I would have done it already but I am a new member so I need a few more posts to actually make a thread myself haha.

Well fresh user status for me as well lel .
Thought the game has so much potential in certain ways and because i liked the witcher series, i thought that i would get my thoughts out there (about the one and only Pan) also after the panam story/ ending, it is good to know that i am not alone in a drowning boat wich is full of WHY IS IT OVER tears xD

Yes, i think devs still have any thing to tell and explain to us. Hopefully in firsts of 2021 :p
we are giving them alot of trust, hopefully they will do the right thing

i 100% agree with this post. Despite the game flaws, I still thought it was great and the one thing CDPR nailed was the characters. This game honestly has some of the best characters I've seen in a video game, to the extent where they feel like real people. The best of these characters imo is Panam and despite the fact she featured more than other characters, I feel she was under utilised and her ending/ interactions with her after romance left me feeling empty (something I haven't really experienced from a video game character before). I would love nothing more than a dlc that expands on her character and the endings. With the endings as they are, I feel reluctant going back to the world and replaying the game knowing that the main story is ultimately meaningless with what happens in all the endings. I would happily pay up for DLC set after the game that expands on all this!!

100% agree. Those side characters are stellar. 5 minutes with them and not only you feel like they're real, but you also feel what it's been to be in their shoes, living in such a terrible world, in a city full of illusions.
They're all broken and relatable, and it would be a shame not to exploit them more. Give them room to breathe by expanding on those quiet moments in side quests. And above all else, give them some moments where they can meet !

Panam banting with Judy over Takemura would be something to behold.

Thats a great idea. I really think CDPR should expand on the best strength of this game which is the characters imo, given that they are all not given that much screen time.

Better not get your hopes too high, they did the same thing with the Witcher 3, once that game ends depression ensues, after you realize everyone you met and romanced is gone, the game becomes as empty as Kaer Morhen castle where you end up ironically. The Blood and Wine expansion also didn't solved this in my opinion, Yennefer/Triss just becomes a glorified NPC at Corvo Bianco with a couple of regurgitated lines.

Nonetheless you just have to remember all the sweet pillow talk you hear in these games were probably written by some neckbeard with a paycheck in mind and couldn't care less about the feelings you were duped into having for a fictional character.

Lol that's a very cynical way to see it. In the Witcher, Blood and Wine provided with some awesome closure moments though. That final conversation with Regis was perfect and made up for all the emptiness in the world. It's those quiet moments that made the game shine (like the snowball fight with Ciri, or when you're sitting with her after the battle with the Crones).
It's the same with Cyberpunk. Pyramid Song is by far one of the best quests of the game, and it comes from a great scenery, wonderful dialog delivered by top notch voice acting, and storytelling by showing. Those moments make up for the feeling of emptiness afterwards in my opinion. They stay with you for far longer than what a random date night in a restaurant would have.

As for the texts, they're a very easy yet perfectly fine way to improve of what was lacking in the Witcher 3, which is specifically more interaction between the characters. I found it perfectly well done and I've listed in a few threads here as a suggestion how making even more text messages would improve on the game (would be great if your loved ones but also friends would be able to react after important story bits, or if you could write to them depending on what you did to ask some advice for example - it's very easy to put in the game and would be very gratifying).
