Extra adventures

hello all, i just beat the game for the first time and was interested in starting one of the extra adventures, and i have a few questions.-which of the fan made adventures is your favorite?-are any of the adventures voice acted? (im an audio angineer and sound is a bigger issue for me than graphics)-and are the fan made adventures completley new made up stories, or were they insipired from plots in the books?( i really enjoyed the stories in the Last Wish, and it would be cool to play through some of them)

None of the extra adventure are voice acted that i know of :peace:and most of the community made mods are actually not based on the books -- have fun!

I can't say, because I've been unable to finish most of them. Not because they were bad -- not at all -- but because if I started one, I'd get halfway through and then feel a burning desire to go work on my own adventure for The Witcher. ;)

"Deception" is mostly voice acted. There are some lines here and there that managed to slip through the cracks, but most of it is voiced. The person who did Geralt is surprisingly good, for a fan-made adventure."Deception" does have some problems, though. It was a VERY ambitious undertaking, given that it was one of the very first fan-made adventures to come out (at a time when the state of our knowledge about Djinni was pretty low), and it's a bit buggy; some parts of the adventure don't quite work right. But if voice acting is very important to you, then you should probably start with it, anyway, since it's the only one that's voiced (in English).

I think it might infringe on Sapkowski's copyright for a fan to use one of his stories in an adventure. No, all of the fan-made adventures are of fan-made stories, as well.

im trying to find a link to download Deception, but most of the links are broken, and the last forum post in its section was a year ago.i found a link through fileplanet that works, but damn, its slow....only uploading at 20 kb/s....way too slow for my connection.off topic, but does anyone know the name of the voice actor who played Geralt (in English) ? there was a bit of discussion on voice acting in the fan made adventures, and i thought Dandelions Voice would be easy to emulate, but Geralt had that Low, rumbly, unique voice. Voice Actors are rarely good, in that everyone with a unique voice or great range becomes instant favorites...but fans who make mods can do it all themselves relatively easy, (with the exception of Geralt - you should stay true to the original actor or else it would just feel to different.)When i worked at Wildwood Recording Studios (no longer around unfortunatly) sometimes a Voice Actor wouldnt show up so me or one of the other engineers would jump in the booth and do the lines, its not that hard its just repetetive. (doing the same line over and over til its just right)...you dont need a professional studio, and you dont need thousand dollar microphones - just get a beta 58 (mic and dont forget a windscreen to reduce popping noises) and a computer to mix the audio files onto, almost any program will work if all your doing is voice.I was trained and certified in Pro Tools, but that program is WAY too expensive...just find an old copy of Cubase or download a free verion of one of Roland's programs...Its a lot easier than people think...and you dont even need the people in the room with you, it can be done over the phone!!! (but for that, i would recommend a studio) It just seemed to me that you could potentially do all the NPC voices yourself and with friends...and if you could find the Actor who did Geralt, convince him to spend a hour on the phone (probably not for free), and BAM, done.....minus the programming them into the gameI feel way less immersed in the story when theres no VoiceOvers, and i know its a HUGE task to include it in the fan made adventures, those that did (i started Side Effects) succeeded into drawing me in - hook, line, and sinker. But thats just me and Im way too picky about that....regardless, Kudos to Everyone and Anyone who made their own adventure, and thanks for sharing them!!!

SE - Side Effects.
Ah. Yes, of course the extra adventures that came with the game are voiced; I thought Skylar was asking about fan-made adventures. And "Deception" is hosted by CDPR, right here. I just tried to download it from the official site (http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/adventures/), and it worked fine for me.
