If romance DLC becomes a thing who do you want to have added?

This aspect (romances and similar) doesn't interest me at all, albeit that I think there needs to be a LOT more open visible sexuality in this game. It was pretty tame on launch, a big disappointment in that respect. Now we have a post launch censored version it's even less than was expected for a futuristic cyberpunk vision. In the bars, clubs, alleyways, cars etc I'd like to see far more graphic sexuality, more obvious partial erotic exposure clothing, see thru, NPC and player, far more adult advertising videos and signage similar to red light districts in Asia. The one or two supposedly 'gogo' bars are a bit pathetic. The game is sterile and unrealistic today, one would have got more thrill (pre-Covid) walking down Soi Cowboy in Bangkok in RL than in the game's supposedly 'illicit' area Jig Jig Street, it's certainly nothing like our famous 'Walking Street' area in Pattaya as a red light bar zone. If this was a PG game they'd allow the same violence but this is what we would have expected their watered down view of sexuality would have been. Given what's gone before it's limp.

While I don't want to simulate a 'romantic' relationship at all with a player, I can see why people do. I would like a (fighting) companion system as it's annoying that this doesn't officially exist in game and that only by glitch or mods can you make this happen and there are bugs that result. Compared to Skyrim it's rubbish.

I tried one female 'Joytoy' and the 15 second blue tinted cut screen sequence not even up to 'soft' porn standards was a total let down, especially as the only thing I saw of V was her ankles at the end. Waste of time, won't bother with those again. See more sex in a TV advert.

To be honest I've seen better looking NPC ladies than the obvious Judy/Panam obsessions, I'd rather have interactions with them, and I'd rather have some of their outfits.

Beyond that. Maybe add more interactions with the existing Romance options, as others have said.

I would like to see gay male romance options with non effeminate or sterotyped gay males. Not all gay males listen to disco music, do drugs, arch their eyebrows, wear makeup, talk with a slight or exaggerated lisp, wear bright colors, call everyone sweetie or any other combination of gay sterotypical behaviour i've noted in 2077.
Most gay males i have known in my 60 years of life are pretty standard non discript males that live pretty benign everyday lives. They just so happen to dig other dudes. I mean if you are going to be inclusive, then be inclusive.

Meredith Stout needs to get an extensive romance overhaul then she could be on equal ground with Panam & Judy content wise.

The problem with Stout is that she's an optional character and she gets zero'd if you don't side with her during the Maelstrom Spiderbot quest (and not everyone does) which instantly means that you've divided your player base, or you've made not backing her up a non-choice, which then negates later missions with Maelstrom. Romance options need to be a character that you encounter through the course of the game but don't necessarily have any collateral risk to them.

SPOILERS BELOW

I'm midway in the game although I believe I've been spoiled already in terms of who's available for whom.
In terms of romance archs I'd love River to be romanceable by male V. Stout makes sense to be better developed specially by corpo V. Takemura!! Claire and Rogue. Viktor, Johnny (he can slap us can't he? Hehe).
I understand new story archs in romance or otherwise should be the least of priorities right now but sex and romance feel very toned down on this city that sells sex in advertisements everywhere. How horny must everyone be in this distopian future where education is lacking everywhere and it's so dangerous you have to live for the immediate pleasure/in the moment.

JOYTOYS
So more joytoys all around the city.
Maybe in your apartment a Joytoy machine with some available

FLINGS
I was imagining since they have the animations you could go to a bar, start dancing with one of the npcs that's dancing or buy a drink to one not dancing and have the option to bring back to your apartment. These could be randomly generated as they are in the game.

Also let V be naked if he will and other male npcs, like the one with Sandra Dorset in the tub. The story is so mature that the censourship is another immersion break. When will we censour violence more than the bodies we are born with, or sex? One is good or neutral, the other one bad. We're so used to being backwards.

i was banned from discord for "being homophobic" and all i did was saying that i wish we could romance judy as male v.

I don't get that. I'd love to be able to romance River as a male V. Although it's like life. That's not what they're into. Nothing wrong with wishing though

I don't agree with that. If you choose to screw her over. Than the romance is gone. You can pick someone else. That's what an RPG should do. You can replay the game to get the romances, and or missions another time. The endings shouldn't have been available to play in one play through. The ending should have ended. And if you wanted to experience the others. You'd replay the game for those choices. I didn't kill Sasqatch or Placid. Because I was expecting side missions for them. From this choice. They didn't bother with that... So I never got the Placid boss fight. I need to replay the game and get rid of the VB's.

Whether you agree or not is beside the point. The fact is, creating a romanceable character is a time commitment on the developers part. Putting a lot of effort into a romance for a character whom a lot of players might never interact with is not a great use of resource allocation. I can't say I cared for the cheesy Stout No Tell Motel Liason (or the eye-rolling SR3 type reward), but it required a lot less effort versus a full-blown Panam or Judy style affair. With every decision, there's a cost in terms of time, resources and money.
