Turn Based Combat or Shooter ?

Please don't threaten people. It is distasteful and you have no right to treat him/her in such manner. (It sounded like it was a threat... I may be wrong.) I hate it when moderators go power crazy. It is not a good sign.

We hate threatening too. If a thread starts to get aggressively argumentative, we'll usually step in and ask for the members to chill out and calm down. We only move to formal warnings if a member chooses to ignore that request, and we may issue a ban if someone repeatedly ignores the request and it becomes the only option open to calm down the argument.

But really, starting to talk about some earlier moderator action of this nature in response to a request by another forum member to chill out is inappropriate in any forum. If the person affected is still unclear on the reason for the ban, he should take it through PM again, and it really isn't a concern of anyone else or a subject that should be discussed within the forum.

Now let's move on.

Look, i have experience about these things. I had your job a few years back and i know it is not as easy as people think it is. But it seems more like you got a grudge against him/her. He/she has every right to question your or any other moderators actions. You are here to serve the forum not rule over it. Nowhere in the forum rules does it ever say, "Moderator decisions are unquestionable and people are not allowed to talk about them." You cannot request people to not judge your decisions. That's just childish and ridiculous. I'm sure that wasn't your intention. He has a right to appeal and he is right to get angry when admins ignore him. And you have no right to ask people to stop talking about something just because you don't like it. If it is not against the rules, you have no say in it. You have no right to bully people into submission. It just makes me question your sincerity.

EDIT: I checked the topic that he got banned for. (Topic called Shadow... something) If you banned him for his/her first two insults, that would make more sense. (You still wouldn't have enough to ban him, but at least he used real insults.) Which makes me further think you have a grudge against him.. or her...

Really, what gender are you? That ship thing doesn't help. :D

While i appreciate you trying to protect the forum from bullies or something, really, i wouldn't want you to get in trouble on my account.. Forget it.. Drop it.. Burn it.. Have an awesome day... :)

Also, i'm male.. How does the ship avatar confuses you again?

No worries.

I didn't say it confuses me, i just can't tell one way or the other by looking at it. I thought Dragonbird was a dude until recently.

And that's my point my friend.. In grand scale of things, they are so few in number, you can easily point them out..
Now i never said my opinion is always the right one, but my point on real-time games mostly preferred by gamers is a correct one. You just have to look what type of games sold more lately.. (And to me Shadowrun returns is a wasted potential.. A joke.. So, lets just move on..)

So what you're saying is that because vanilla ice cream sells the most, the manufacturers should make nothing but vanilla ice cream. I understand. I disagree with that view wholeheartedly, as I'd much rather have my choice of all the flavors, but you're welcome to your opinion. We can agree to disagree. No need to continue this discussion.

Well, I think it's okay for people to get heated about their arguments as long as they do two things:

1) don't make it personal
2) don't take it personally

It's okay to disagree with someone, just don't be douchey..and really explain what you mean and why you're arguing instead of trying to just "win" the argument. There's no sense in talking if no one can understand you.

I said no such thing. I was saying, since vanilla ice cream sells the most, it means most people prefer the vanilla ice cream over any other ice cream. They would much rather eat vanilla ice cream rather than say, chocolate marshmallow ice cream. (turn-based) Most ice cream makers don't make chocolate marshmallow because it is unpopular. And even though few still makes it, it is rare. (Why would they make something that doesn't sell well?)

Now, i'm not saying they should stop making chocolate marshmallow, most already did.

"Wall-o-Text"
I can't even work out what to take from this. I can't tell where you agree with me, disagree with me or have if you have just gone off in some random direction.

Let's just get back to the two basic points:

1 - You said the most powerful weapons are too easy to use. I disagreed, pointing out that the most powerful weapons usually have inherrant differences in their use which require more player skill to make them effective. Many of them are also specialised in what they do.

Do you still say that weapons like sniper rifles, shotguns and launchers, (because I really can't think of any recent game that provides a "laser-o-Death" in any legitimate form apart from maybe Deus Ex:HR,) are still too easy to use?

2 - Turn based combat games are more like chess than real time combat games are. Do you agree or disagree with that statement? (And yes, I have already pointed out that just about any competative activity can be compared to chess, as well as many other games of that ilk.)

Oh, and lastly are you saying that 2077 should feature turn based combat?

I'm just wondering and please don't get offended, who are you referring to? Who are you having difficulty to understand? (It might be just you.)

Goddamn it, Wars, Now I want chocolate marshmallow ice cream! Do you have -any idea- how hard that is to find on our little island?

Gonna have to get ice cream, heat the marshmallows - in their turn, heh heh heh -- then stir them into the ice cream.

And I was being so good diet-wise, too.
Sob.

@ gary: I was speaking in general

It sure didn't sound like it. You said "don't be douchey" not "lets not be douchey" and "no one can understand you" not "if we can't understand eachother". See what i mean? I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but i just wanted to make it clear you didn't refer to anyone. :)

You mention forum rules, here are some of them:

• The decisions of forum moderators or CD Projekt RED staff concerning a given user, as well as any related opinions expressed by any of these parties, shall be considered confidential to said parties. As such, they shall not be discussed on www.cyberpunk.net.

and:

• All complaints regarding forum moderators or appeals against their decisions shall be examined and resolved by CD Projekt RED as represented by Keth. Submissions of this type should take the form of private communications or e-mails. Any complaint or appeal submitted otherwise shall be null and void.

This should make it clear where when and what we have say in and in what ways moderators' decisions can be discussed.

Also, another point from the forum rules:

• All users are required to:
-(...)
- adhere to thread topics in publishing their posts,
-(...)

Therefore all users are kindly requested to return to the topic of this thread.

Thats what i've been saying. (But i fear i did not express myself clearly, for that i'm sorry.)

Those rules assume moderators will be "just" in their decisions. But this is not (At least as the Warsend claims) the case. If mistakes made, they should be corrected, and the second rule states admins (I'm assuming by RED it means some form of admin group) will answer complaints, but (again according to Wars) this is not the case here. Rules cannot work if admins are not supporting them. Everybody has in their rights to appeal. If you take that right away (by his case, admins refused to answer him) there cannot be justice, therefore rules cannot hold true.

I'm going to drop this and not going discuss any more of this, but i'm sure even if you don't agree with me, you understand where i'm coming from.

The way of appealing is given in the forum rules. If any member of the forum needs help with that, I or any other moderator will gladly direct him/her so he/she does this thing properly.

Now back on topic.

No, it says "shall be examined and resolved by CD Projekt RED" not by moderators. Letting moderators to decide if they are guilty or not would be like asking a criminal to judge himself. Of course he will not find any faults. Anyway, i was going to drop this... I drop it.

Yes, and there is a clear way to contact CDPR, not moderators, given in the forum rules.
