Because let's imagine you are playing a male V and a female V at the same time, both nomad, both with almost the same playing time, both with similar levels, I think that there is no real way to differentiate between saves.
The only way would be to always activate the same quest (like "Fool On The Hill" for your male V) before saving manually and quitting... Annoying
