NEW Games?

NIKITA -
what do you think about a nikita-style game? TV series from 2010. Maggie Q could make a great game cover that would draw many players to the screen;)

Or about the stargate. All the games that were already there weren't that good. Atlantis especially. The crew finds the city. They have to discover the city and learn how to operate it. Exploration of the city and other planets. searching for a ZPM to power the city. City rpg development and character can even detachment and city defense units. The goal is to return to earth at the end.

They tried making a Stargate MMO, called Stargate Worlds. It got cancelled during development and a Stargate 3rd person shooter was released instead. The servers for that one were shut down less than a year after release.

By the way... Shouldn't this be in the Off Topic section?

A games inspired by Nikita, the TV series, itself inspired from the original and cult movie by Luc Besson (1990), yes, why not :)

There was a game years ago, Alpha Protocol... and it definitely was not a "Nikita" game (The protagonist was male) .... But it was a really cool Spy RPG with a really interesting branching story, a lot of good characters, romance options, play styles etc....

Honestly it was Severely underrated in my opinion, really good game (combat could have been a little tighter) Point is, if you took something like that but applied it to the "Nakita Universe" or even just adapted it to something Nakita Adjacent, something similar story wise.... yeah, I'd play that, I'd probably prefer more of a make your own character RPG set in a Sci-fi Spy thriller world and have the "Nakita Type" be more just like on possible playstyle/build.

But overall, yeah, I like that Idea.

I remember playing Operation Flashpoint back in the day and thinking it was the perfect base for a Stargate mod. Turns out someone did that.

I loved that game, still have it on Steam. Played it to so much to get every different branching option. I still quote Stephen Heck whenever possible.
"Did you know that at 400 miles per hour, soccer balls can decapitate people?"
Would love a remake, maybe just change it up enough so that we can choose from male and female protagonists, instant buy.

Police Quest RPG that follows your rookie working his way up in ranks towards a choice of becoming either a detective, a SWAT member, or first response patrol officer (or some such), all with a background of corruption, politics and gang violence intertwining into a noir story about solving a criminal powerstruggle at the top of the city. Will you be one the few truly honest cops, or will the rampant corruption eat you too; are doing what you do to get in favor of others, or are you making your own bed by playing others?

Basic cop abilities and stats to develop (physique, driving, senses, etc), plus specialised skillsets for detectives, swatters and patrol officers.

Something like that could be neat.

Sounds like Police Simulator: Patrol Officers but with much more substance. I agree would be cool if you could make it with a living city with random stuff happening that you really could not plan for properly and so on.

Not interested in anything newly published at the moment, and can't think of anything in particular that I'd like to see developed.

I'm having fun playing some great things that have been out for a year or two, picked up cheap on the Steam summer sale. That's my new version of new. Those will hold me until October/November, when Immortal Empires should be out for TW Warhammer 3. Starfield supposedly will be out in November, and should be playable six months later when mods that fix it are out. That's enough to hold me for a while.

Starfield is delayed too next year i think? They said they wanted too avoid a disaster launch so im hoping it will be less buggy then the former releases but im also kinda doubting it... its Bugestha after all :)

Thanks. I hadn't heard. The lack of gameplay updates made it pretty clear that the game was headed for a disastrous launch in November. Still, based on FO76, I'm surprised that they delayed it. I guess that's the new Microsoft influence over Bethesda.

In a way it would be a cop simulation (Police Quest sort of was too in its time too), but it’d have looots of player choice and a plethora of skills and stats to play with (mostly RNG based obviously).

Sounds like something i would enjoy. Simulators arent really my thing but add enough RPG/player choice and im onboard :)
