Areal - a new post-apocalíptic game by the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro

Areal is a new video game that's being developed by the people behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It features a massive and intricately detailed open world environment that is extremely varied and colorful, even though it's set in a post-apocalyptic setting. Areal depicts a future where civilization has fallen apart due to an unearthly material called Metamorphite, which eventually spreads, corrupts and infects the whole world. The source of Metamorphite comes from a meteor that impacted the earth long ago, and it is the site of constant conflict and bloodshed.
Areal's story is not linear – players can choose how their characters act and speak – everything from how you talk to who you kill changes the storyline of Areal. There is no morality system in Areal, so you are free to make choices that you think are best in any given situation, without being blinded and limited by a standard good/evil system. Ultimately, Areal is the culmination of everything that we want to see from a post apocalyptic game, and it's something that we can realize with full creative freedom because of the unique platform that is Kickstarter. All we need is your support!

Hi guys, I'm re-posting the update here in the comments section.
" We have contacted Vostok Games about their supposed claim that we are fraudulent. They say that they have no relation to that claim and have since deleted the forum topic (https://forum.survarium.com/en/viewtopic.php…) wherein a moderator accused us of being fake. The Kickstarter comments section has been completely hijacked by a couple of people, and even if we comment there, our posts will be ignored and buried. Misery LTD in particular is developing another post apocalyptic video game and is stirring controversy to attract people to his Kickstarter project. I hope that you, our supporters, can see through this deliberate negativity and help us make an awesome game with Areal. Update 2 is coming later today, and will clarify things even further.

So, who do you trust? I'm not sure, so I suppose ignoring the game is for the best.

Honestly, I better trust in Vostok gaes and Misery LTD. And if this actually real project I can support them later on if I want to. But probably you are right. I would be happier if a sandbox Metro game would come.

Looks interesting, will run on Linux and DRM-free. But some commented that the video they posted is actually from the Stalker games, not from their new game. Is that true? (I didn't play Stalker yet, so I have no clue).

Yeah, All the footage I saw, I recognized from Shadow Of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. I've played both games heavily and I knew that graphics engine instantly. Plus the supposed developers are refusing to show their faces which itself is suspicious. If you really want to sell your game to backers on Kickstarter, then it's wise to show your team, these guys haven't done that. Something is definitely not right there.

It seems easy to take hold of people's nostalgia. Really no different than people who start up early alpha/beta access and then quit the project after it's sold a shit ton.

Edit: The fact that they have a goal of $50,000 and have the PS4 and Xbox One is enough to alert my suspicions.

They are pathetic. Promising the video, and instead of it, they are insultinkg the MDT. You can search their kickstarter page, that was professional and no one had doubts about them. But West games? Instead of trying to prove their game is real, just bitching.
Other thing. If I would like to start a Kickstarter, I would prepare for it for weeks right? Because if I fail, I wouldn't able to make my dream true, and finish the project.

The sad thing is that there are people who willingly believe the nonsense that is posted by "West Games". You just need to look at the comment section on Kickstarter.

Sadly I saw that, and it still be cucsess, because a lot of the backer don't even bother the comments. After I backed, my first thing was to watch the comments, and after 1-2 hours I cancelled it. Lot of fans will be fooled I guess, but I don't know how the Kickstarter let this happen.
