*Sigh* Why are they doing that? It doesn't make much sense beyond Igni. WTF would a "Quen bolt" do, for instance?

I'm not taking that claim at face value, because frankly it just sounds weird. Aard bolt? Ignii bolt? I think the article is trying to say we'll have other ranged options than the crossbow.

Well...
Aard bolt could go faster, more power.
Yrden bolt would be... some kind of trap?

I'm not even sure if it's a joke or they're serious, lol. But not opposed to the idea so much when it comes to Igni bolts, although it would still be crap because barely anybody actually used any fire arrows...

Bah, no, just no. This has to be a joke.

I bet @Kinley did not see THAT coming.

I gotta say, this is a bit too much. I'm not sure that there will be many people on the forum that will like this. Either way, we still need to see how it is used exactly, or get more details about it.

First we need to ascertain what it even means. It doesn't make much sense in any context I can think of.

I don't think this means what you guys think it means (or the person writing the article, for that matter). It's just them saying the crossbow's more than a simple ranged weapon, as Signs can do ranged damage too. It has special uses, like making enemies bleed so you can track them etc.

This is the direct quote: “Come to think of it, it’s not a weapon per se, but there are witcher Signs you could use to deal ranged damage. There’s ten of them (an alternative for every classical Sign known from the previous game)"

This is the journalist's interpretation of those words:

"According to our soon-to-be-published interview, developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Geralt’s impressive crossbow is more than a simple ranged weapon. Our protagonist will be able to combine his witcher Signs with it, resulting in different projectiles."

As I said, to me that dev quote clearly states the crossbow is not just used to do ranged damage, it's more specialised than that - you've got Signs for ranged damage after all. What it clearly does not mean is thatr we'll be able to combine Signs with the crossbow bolts (which doesn't make any sense anyway).

Yes. Obviously it means you can use both together in fight(=combine it). Nothing more nothing less.

You guys.

Lulz:

The demo opened up with the Witcher himself, Geralt, riding through the large town of Novgirad. He’s on the trail of Ciri, an ashen-haired woman fans may remember from the original Witcher who is now being pursued by the Wild Hunt.

ETA: Also, I thnk the writer doesn't know the term "Alderman" because they keep using "Eoldarman" which looks like they tried to directly transcribe the accent.

I really hope you are right, because imbuing signs on crossbows (and apologies to CDP for being rude) sounds incredibly retarded.
