Monsters in The Witcher 3

+
I like monsters in the Witcher far more than those in the Witcher 2. I hope to see Devourer, Graveir and Fleder in the Witcher 3!!!

Only now I realized that there is almost no Slavic mythology in The Witcher.

You're wrong.

Noonwraith - originally Południca in polish.

Devourer and Nightwraith incorporate features of Baba Yaga and Nocnitsa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocnitsa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga

Kikimore, Koshchey, Leshen are typical Eastern Slavic mythological characters.

72 - Red Dragon
73 - Green Dragon
74 - Black Dragon
75 - White Dragon
76 - Rock Dragon
77 - Golden Dragon

Dude, are you nuts? I'd give anything for returning nude bruxa from The Witcher!

This, so this, the covered looks of Witcher 2 came off as way too mainstream. These are the creatures that got to me, more than any other in any electronic software ever. I actually had to realize this was an enemy, she damn near killed me more than once. I thought I could save them... XD

Kikimore and Koshchey are only names. We have totally different creatures in the Witcher's world.
How can Devourer be witch Yaga? She's more similar to the Ladies of the Woods.

But these are exactly Slavic names.

How can Devourer be witch Yaga? She's more similar to the Ladies of the Woods.

To begin with, she looks like Baba-Yaga. Then please read about the characteristics and compare the information they give about Baba-Yaga and Nocnitsa.

Developer CD Projekt's characterization of the devourer taken from the Monsterbook, which was enclosed with the Collectors Edition of the computer game The Witcher for Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic:

Like the noonwraith, this monster is strongly rooted in Slavic lore. It began with a name mentioned by Sapkowski; the idea that the devourer should resemble an old, menacing woman followed soon after. <...> In its final form, the devourer is a hag with a wonderfully hooked nose, drooping breasts and a swollen, wrinkled belly. <...> The devourer embodies children's nightmares of a mischievous, sadistic witch waiting to carry off naughty children.

This thread is cool. I'll bring it back.
So, who is this ugly pokemon with Geralt?

no i think the ugly thing is the head of letho if you decide to kill him on witcher 2

That doesn't make any sense. If you killed him you just let he's body in loc muinne.
Why would Geralt cut Letho's head off, then store it for six month, then ride whit it?
Thats surely a doppler, maybe Dudu from the books.

Another monster confirmed :)

We will have to deal with cyclops in The Witcher 3
If you still don't know about it, here someone would like to express his feelings on the matter:

translation:
Cyclops Siegfried
He's disgusted with your knowledge
For You, who shouldn't have been steeped in ignorance, see the article and broaden your knowledge by reading, as Marek Madej dealt with the creation of the beast for W3

Got werewolves, but what about werebears?

Having people suddenly transmogrifying on you in the middle of combat can be a jarring experience to say the least. With the old legends of werewolves usually having people shift at night, or times of the month uncontrollably; turning into ravenous monsters that only crave the flesh of their fellow men. However when happening upon these monsters they will most likely have already changed. Depriving us of that "wow" factor you get when shit gets way worst for you in a fight. Now werebears on the other hand have a different legend about them. They are warriors "blessed" with the ability to change into monsters by Odin himself whenever the need arises. Resulting in a sort of "upgraded" werewolf that isn't changed because of circumstance, but because its a focused warrior that needs a little bit more aid in tearing your head off.
