help finding dark iron ore

Hi everyone, i have all diagrams for the feline gear. I was able to craft most of the set but the enhanced chest piece i am unable to craft because i need dark steel plates but i only have one dark ingot and no dark iron ore at all. I have gone to all blacksmiths in novigrad, velen and white orchard to try and buy it but none have it in their stocks. I have completed the swords and dumplings quest but hattori still doesn't stock it.

I don't have anything to dismantle for it and i read online that the swords enemies carry could be dismantled for dark iron ore or ingots but i have tried that aswell and that doesn't work!
Any help finding some dark iron ore would be mucg appreciated.

Yeah, that dark stuff seems to be rare as hell. I ended up dismantling some armor to get a dark steel plate.

This might or might not be a good idea, but maybe looting some of the guarded treasure that's everywhere, and then trying to dismantle the rare items you got.

I'd love to know if there's a known method for finding this stuff though
