You know, there are many interesting Japanese anime, you just have to find them among the garbage. In western televisions you can usually watch stupid anime for teens and people tends to generalise... It's annoys me a little because it's like evaluating western cinematography after watching few porn movies

I sure there are, but all the stuff you see is basically porn so it's kind of difficult to think that there are some good things when all you see are trashy high school romance crap.

It's a business like any other. There was an interview with an director from one of the Japanese animation studios (no, I'm not talking about Miyazaki) who admitted that they are making mostly moe and high school stuff, because it is the most popular genre among their consumers in Japan. They simply can't afford more ambitious and expensive projects without making sure that it will sell. However, when they can afford taking some risk, they are willing to go all the way in order to deliver a high quality product. I mean, where else they would made a comedy about Jesus and Buddha living together in a modern times while making it actually clever then just plain offensive?
It'll be alright. Thought that about my music exam as well. It turned out to be at least 13 out of 15 credits.
