Help disabling Dark Mode weapon visual effects!

They apparently found a way to disable the Dark mode weapon's visual effects without sacrificing the life leech. I don't want to the use the mod that takes out the visuals, because I really want to keep the life leech attatched. This is my first time using the script editor, so when I go to edit the line->connect to the game->reload scripts it doesn't do anything at all. Am I even implementing the edits I'm doing?
