do you have to keep formula>?

I have a bunch of formula here in chapter 1. If I have it in my inventory, it does not seem I can use it to learn it, and I am afraid to get rid of it....want to be able to make stuff!

so am I missing something?
do I need to keep them in inventory?

They need to be in your inventory as far as know.I just keep the formulas and diagrames for the ones i used most.My first playthrough i had them all but narrowed down the ones i use most.basiicaly swallow,trany owl,golen orcle,glawall, some bombs and blade oils. Ive tried traps but dont care for them.For me thats the basics and get by just fine with them just find with my play style.
