Witcher 2 Black Screen on Startup

Hey guys, I re-installed everything on my computer, Steam and Witcher 2 included. Whenever I start the game up, I simply get a black screen. Nothing happens after that. I've already tried disabling all of the DLC, but that doesn't work. Please give me your suggestions.

first do a verification via steam to make sure all your files are intact and nothing is missing/corrupted.

I tried the verification, and it still doesn't work.

Hi guys, I have the same problem except the verification didn't work.

I had the Witcher 2 installed on my pc from my boxed version of the game and I just moved the files across when I bought the game today on Steam. Steam recognised the files fine and didn't even download much.

I did a verification separately and nothing downloaded.

Any suggestions, arcane or practical would be appreciated at this point

What are your system specs and are overclocking your video card including factory overclocked models ? Are you also running the latest driver for your video card ?
