None of those monsters caused near the visceral dislike I felt for Javid and the Professor. I'd rather have a Bruxa for a housepet.

I think you have the right of it. As I see it, Alvin, as noted by Triss, was a powerful magical being (Human? Who knows?) He was traumatised and sent himself into the past. There, he assumed another identity, became the Grand Master of the Order. He felt he needed the Witcher secrets, so created...

I just went through the whole finale again, and I agree with those who poste that 1) Alvin is the GM. Geralt says that his dilliterium amulet looked the same but worn, and the Wild Huntsman says he was someone Geralt knew under a different name. 2) I think the Assassin is someone Geralt...

Very true, which is why I stashed my meteorite sword and carry a two-handed axe. Wish I had used it on that %#@^ golem. :'(

Okay, I know to use my silver sword on monsters and my steel sword, Harvall, on humans, Dwarves, Elves, and wolves. What do you use the axe or hammer, etc., for?
