I know it's not much help to have me say "me too" but I also have an 8500GT (ASUS) and am finding that when I go into the conversation cut scenes I also get the texture smearing, graphical corruption etc.As I had no problems playing my older pc with a 7600, I suspect it may be a problem specific...
