What vista? I have 32, mine was doing this aswell, then i read the troubleshooting thread all the way through and as recommended for vista 32 i turned my user control off and changed display resolution down to 1024 by 768 and color to 16bit from 32. Also updated nvidia driver to the 169.25...

Thanks for your advice guys i did a manual defrag and can now go further in the game. Fingers crossed no more probs like that.

I found out vista is pre-programmed once a week to defrag http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,2110604,00.asp so its already been doing it. Any other ideas?

what is chkdsk and how do i defrag. i only have two other games on my pc could they really affect the auto save?

Yes when autosaving at haron's house, everytime.
