I respectfully disagree, the point of Cyberpunk is that it's our world but in the future where stuff like this is possible. And things like Cybernetic controversy is entirely possible and very likely

Hate Crimes You can't have a Cyberpunk game without Hate Crimes and Controversy on people who install Cybernetics. It is literally the driving force of Cyberpunk and I sincerely hope that it will be a major factor in the story of Cyberpunk 2077

Not every Investigation quest has to make your character out to seem like a detective thats been in the force for a long while. Like one of the posters said it could involve finding the killer of a dead gang mate or an ex cop who kills gang bangers and criminals out of his own accord.
