Hello everyone, I am facing a similar issue: the game starts but I cannot get past a black screen. I play on PC the Steam version. I played the game for 220 hrs, since launch. I did not encounter as many bugs, no quest related bugs at all (except the usual hovering objects and Roach related)...

you are not doomed. The fast travel points do not show while checking / looking at the map when you sail (or on a boat). When you arrive to land, they will show back again. I am not certain if this should be considered as bug; you cannot use them anyway while sailing. I am having the same issue...
