Thanks, I have. Downloaded the fix, installed it, and got a new error message on selecting Launch Game. However I suspect this might have had something to do with the mess that was my previous install. It's worked for many others, and I'll give it a retry if needed when fresh game + EE...

Yeah, I also love TW. But I'm not going to give out or recommend a game that takes two days to install.

I'm lazy...after manual download and install wouldn' t launch, I did a system restore to pre-EE, then downloaded the auto update version from this site. Still won't launch. Guess I ought to do a full uninstall/reinstall, then re-download the auto install version of EE again.

The best approach for me is to start a new game on easy, which gives the option to change difficulty levels during the game. Then, go to normal or hard for regular play, switch back to easy to kill off the frustrating bosses you'd rather not spend an hour fucking with, switch up again.

Did a search...no witcher2.exe found. The problem is that 2.1 is a "patch" which contains the installation program for EE. The other patches for TW2 are to be applied to the previously installed game, but they're only bug-fix patches. May work on some system configurations, others not. I found...

The game wouldn't start after I installed 2.0 on top of 1.35. Reinstalled it with 1.35 only, and it runs decently well at default low settings on my antique system...2005 Dell XPS, P4 3.4 GHZ, 3GB memory, evga 8800GTX video. Running in safe mode also helps. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
